well, let's see... did the hatchback/sportcoupe convince you that your next car may be another mercedes?

and to be fair, i mean realistically. don't vote for the SL just b/c you want it. i mean, which may be considered for your NEXT car...

My wife likes the wagon. Might be the only way she does not end up taking my C230.

2004 Civic Si. FWD for the Win!
Nope

I've convinced myself that my next car will be done through European Delivery (unless I get an S2000, of course). I just hope that the new 9-3 is as good as I think it can be.

And I still have no interest in getting a slushbox, so that leaves very few options for me in the MB stable. Besides, who wants to stick with the same brand all of the time?

CP, I don't know. I think your sig should be bigger.

that is true about not having the tranny that you prefer in most of the classes (c and slks, right?) and no AMGs have manuals, i believe.

but c'mon, chrono is passionate about his car! i think it's kinda wild/cuckoo! man, it takes guts to have a sig like that! keep it!

2002 C230K 120K Miles Just as good as new
" i mean realistically. don't vote for the SL just b/c you want it. i mean, which may be considered for your NEXT car..."

I picked the SL, and I mean it. My last car before the C230 was an SL (from 1967), but my next SL will be newer, and will probably be purchased five years from now with all the money that I'll save not having to fix the C230.

I drove the '67 so much that the periodic and episodic maintenance cost so much that it nearly killed me.

I loved the convertible, but I also love the space in the C230.

Hi guys,

Sorry about the signature line. It is a kind of work in progress. I reduced the image size a little. Is that better or too obnoxious?

C230 C-Coupe
I won't limit my choices for the next car based on who makes it. I will buy the next car based on merit and what appeals to me at the time.

For now I am enjoying what I have and hopefully it will keep my interest for many years to come. So far nothing has put me off buying another MB.

I would definitely buy a Benz again, provided they make a sporty coupe with a manual transmission.

...

Oh wait a minute, I already have one

But seriously, If Benz comes out with a manual CLK that can be something to consider.

Young,
Where's the new, improved, more powerful C-coupe on the ballot? Who knows, but I could see myself going with status quo in 3 or 4 years or so when I trade mine in. Other than that the Mazda RX-8 looks pretty shweet. WRXsti? Who knows really.

Many people see the 2003 E-Class? It's so cool. that's my next aim. It looks like the S Class but better. I think...

I voted "No".

I don't currently see another MB that I would want as my daily driver.

C230 Sports Coupe
C32, this is a car that i am really considering for my next car. Although a CLK would be nice too. I'm pretty sure my next car, unless a true SUV (by that I mean taken off road and modified heavily) my next car will be a Mercedes.

Awaiting a new arrival...
I bought an ML320 Sport 9 months ago, during all of the quality concerns, and it has been pretty-well trouble free thus far. My wife and 1yr old absolutely love it in my absence. No that the baby is facing forward, she loves the sunroof.

The media focus on Mercedes quality issues is not deterring me from buying another. Granted, I want, and could probably afford a C32, but my reality tells me that when your cars sit an average of 9-10 months out of the year at an airport, that's a waste of money and a perfectly good AMG product (that someone else could swoop up). I am not just "settling" for a C230K; on the contrary, I am very excited about it, as the manual makes the car, in my opinion. Can't wait for it to arrive, and sit at the airport...

C230 K coupe Orion blue, Evo, prem leather roof, premium sound and cd changer, auto.
Next one will be an SL for sure. Then again by that time M-B will be producing hybrid (gas-electric) cars!

If all MBs have the kinds of troubles I'm currently experiencing with my coupe, I should say NO.

Funnily enough, it is the C320 wagon loaner that keeps my faith in MB.

And most people hate wagons....

I would consider the new Infiniti G35 coupe with a 6 speed.

260 hp, rear wheel drive

unless MB comes up with more power for the C230 or puts a stick in the CLK. The ONLY reason I bought the C230 was because it was RWD and 6 spd.

My First and Last Mercedes Benz!

I have only owned my C230K for 2 months now, and I like it enough that I will keep it at least until the 4 year warranty runs out, and probably a year or 2 more. But I have already made the decision that my next car will not be a Mercedes Benz.

My reasoning is mostly because MB's are fairly expensive, with that expense you'd expect a certain level of customer service. From what I have experienced first hand, through a friend who owns an E-class and this board, MB customer service falls far behind virtually every other carmaker out there including the economy brands. MBUSA seems to have an attitude like; your lucky we decided to let you buy a car from us! As if it were a privilege.

I feel there are too many good brands out there that have just as good or better product and much better customer service to go with that to be wasting hard earned money to buy the tri-star logo. What I found is that your money buys the logo but not all that you would expect to go along with it. I almost bought an Audi A4, BMW 325, and I admit there are times I have regrets.

I'll append my earlier post with the content of Larry's- we have similar taste- not a big fan of the G35's headlights/grill but other than that it looks very tempting as well- might lean toward lux a bit more than sport but seemingly much bang for the $, and the all important RWD (manual goes w/o saying.)
