for Coupe owners only - would you buy another Mercedes?
and to be fair, i mean realistically. don't vote for the SL just b/c you want it. i mean, which may be considered for your NEXT car...

And I still have no interest in getting a slushbox, so that leaves very few options for me in the MB stable. Besides, who wants to stick with the same brand all of the time?
CP, I don't know. I think your sig should be bigger.
but c'mon, chrono is passionate about his car! i think it's kinda wild/cuckoo!

man, it takes guts to have a sig like that!
keep it!
I picked the SL, and I mean it. My last car before the C230 was an SL (from 1967), but my next SL will be newer, and will probably be purchased five years from now with all the money that I'll save not having to fix the C230.
I drove the '67 so much that the periodic and episodic maintenance cost so much that it nearly killed me.
I loved the convertible, but I also love the space in the C230.

For now I am enjoying what I have and hopefully it will keep my interest for many years to come. So far nothing has put me off buying another MB.

Oh wait a minute, I already have one
But seriously, If Benz comes out with a manual CLK that can be something to consider.
Where's the new, improved, more powerful C-coupe on the ballot? Who knows, but I could see myself going with status quo in 3 or 4 years or so when I trade mine in. Other than that the Mazda RX-8 looks pretty shweet. WRXsti? Who knows really.

The media focus on Mercedes quality issues is not deterring me from buying another. Granted, I want, and could probably afford a C32, but my reality tells me that when your cars sit an average of 9-10 months out of the year at an airport, that's a waste of money and a perfectly good AMG product (that someone else could swoop up). I am not just "settling" for a C230K; on the contrary, I am very excited about it, as the manual makes the car, in my opinion. Can't wait for it to arrive, and sit at the airport...

Funnily enough, it is the C320 wagon loaner that keeps my faith in MB.
And most people hate wagons....
260 hp, rear wheel drive
unless MB comes up with more power for the C230 or puts a stick in the CLK. The ONLY reason I bought the C230 was because it was RWD and 6 spd.
My reasoning is mostly because MB's are fairly expensive, with that expense you'd expect a certain level of customer service. From what I have experienced first hand, through a friend who owns an E-class and this board, MB customer service falls far behind virtually every other carmaker out there including the economy brands. MBUSA seems to have an attitude like; your lucky we decided to let you buy a car from us! As if it were a privilege.
I feel there are too many good brands out there that have just as good or better product and much better customer service to go with that to be wasting hard earned money to buy the tri-star logo. What I found is that your money buys the logo but not all that you would expect to go along with it. I almost bought an Audi A4, BMW 325, and I admit there are times I have regrets.
