what's the difference between C, S, or W on gear shift?
I understand that 'C' stands for comfort, and 'S' for sport...and in my mom's C320 in place of 'C' she has 'W' meaning weather? What is the diffence between these three? Should I place the shift in 'C' for snow or is 'S' ok? I'm confused and too lazy to look in the manual

old model. they started using C recently. i used to have w. but they changed my shift boot/knob/slush box thing, now i have c and s on the button but w and s in the instrument cluster btw i didnt even ask them to change it. they just did. idiots. the said they found a problem with it. so instead of fixing the issues that i had with my car, they fixed something that wasnt a problem... btw now my bi-xenon headlamp is malfunctioning... great... problem number 30... and counting

Whitch models have
1. C, S and W
2. C and S
3. S and W
I have S and W in the button and in the panel.
I thought it was "summer" and "winter" etc.
anyway does someone know what do they change?
What differences are there between S and W?
Isn´t transmission in C kind that "learns" from your driving?
Can you do anything to retrain it or something like that or reset it or set it to some static setting?
Does anyone know more about this subject?

C/S (Comfort/Sport) was implemented in MY04 in place of W/S (Winter/Summer). The shift logic is similar in that C/W (Comfort formally Winter) start the car in 2nd gear if normal throttle input in both forward and reverse - yes, there is a second reverse gear which has a different ratio for comfort/winter conditions. S/S (Sport formally Summer) starts the car in first gear for both forward and reverse for more aggressive accelleration.
Tha shift logic between MY03 (W/S) and MY04 (C/S) was modified also to provide more differentiation between the 2 settings with the Comfort mode provide smoother shifts and the S mode providing more aggressive shifts.
Whether in C or S, the car will start in 1st gear if WOT is applied.
