Does anybody know how to remove the rear seat arm rest, as my cup holder black plastic is making all kinds of rattling noises

If you look at the inside corner when you drop the armrest down you'll see bracket that holds the armrest in. You should be able to slide a flat head in each notch and the armrest will slide out. I'll take pics later to show where they are.

Rear Seat - Armrest Removed

Close Up

I removed the armrest from a rear seat in a W203 about a month ago and I appreciate your frustration. It is difficult to see the part holding the armrest in place. I see that you have a later car, and I don't know whether the mounting system is identical. If it is the photos I posted above should help.

These pictures show the rear armrest cavity with the armrest removed. The second picture focuses on the attachment point. (There is a corresponding one on the opposite side.) The round cutout area is where a spring-loaded pin attaches the armrest to the seat. To remove it, I slid a small screwdriver between the pin and the seat back. Push the pins on both sides toward the armrest and you should be able to wiggle it out.

Good luck.

Mercedes must have changed the design in the newer cars. This forum is for W203 series C-Class vehicles which were made through the 2007 model year. If you have a 2014 model, I recommend that you post your question on the W205 forum. The participants on that forum may have direct experience with your era of vehicle.

Good luck.
