2007 W203 C200 steering angle sensor part number
Hi All,
First post here searched before I post, could not find the answer
I recently purchased a W203 2007 C200 Diesel Ex-Taxi and i'm loving it. It's got a bum steering angle sensor though, which I'd like to purchase independently.
I'm not a big DIY guy so taking the SAS apart to check the part number is a bit stretchy. I plan to have an indy replace it for me once I get it.
my VIN number is WDBRF07H07F842733, and according to it I was able to locate what seems to be list of relevant part numbers (it's uploaded here along with the relevant diagram). Unfortunately I'm no Russian speaker nor a "Merc speaker" and from that site I didn't really understand which part is right for me (maybe all of them?).
Could anyone help me with getting the proper part number(s) please? specifically which revision of the sensor can/should I get?
It's a W203 2007 C200 (122HP) Diesel
Here's the diagram/part list I came up with
http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/attac...number-sas.jpg
Cheers!

It says Clock spring with Steering angle sensor.
If you look carefully, it indicates which part#s were superseded.
The current ones are 01 18, 08 18 and 12 18 (according to the diagram).

Out Of Control!!
you provided the VIN-----I used EPC to define the correct\applicable part, ------EPC suggests the 08, because it is the correct part for that VIN------however you can use what ever you want!!

When the chart says "Replaced_by" (i.e on the 06 variant replaced by 08) it means that at some point a newer variant was issued instead of this one. When it says "OptionPart_with" (i.e 08 variant with 12 and vice-versa) it means the other variant is as compatible (not superseding or better in any way, just another fitting part).
And anyway, all the listed parts (i.e 03, 06, ,08 , 12) will definitely fit on my car.
Is my understanding correct?
Thanks again guys.

Folks,
Sorry to resurrect a fairly old thread, but I pulled apart the steering wheel last week as I had the fairly common "ESP Unavailable" message on the dashboard.
Current installed part number is A 169 464 06 18 (integrated clockspring and SAS).
Went to the local MB dealer and asked them for a replacement part. They said it is A 169 464 15 18, and it was going to cost approx €360 (ouch!) new. All cars in Germany have to undergo a mandated roadworthy inspection (similar to the MoT Inspection in the UK) every 2 years. Having a ESP Failure indication on the dashboard is an automatic fail, and mine is due next month.
There are secondhand parts around available here, with varying degrees of wear and tear. As I don't tear down the local Autobahns to get to/from work, this is probably the cheapest option to fix it.
Checking the online EPC here in Germany and tracing the 'history' of the part number, is it safe to assume that ANY of these will work:
A 169 464 06 18
A 169 464 08 18
A 169 464 12 18 *
A 169 464 15 18 *
What threw me was the "OptionPart_with" listed under A 169 464 08 18 - see * above.
Also, there seems to be 2 different part numbers printed on the my existing clockspring/SAS. One is A2035405845 9051 printed on the outer edge and A 169 464 06 18 printed further in - See attached pics. Is there a difference in the part numbers?
Many thanks.

Anyone have a picture of where the paddle shifters plug into to see the pins?
My 05 C230 does not appear to have the pins for the paddle shifters, so I need to get a different clock spring.
