Thinking about getting C240
Those that have the C240 how do you feel about its handling / acceleration?
Thanks!
I hope this made sense...
How about C230k Sedan? That is still slow but not as bad as the 240.
If you like the wood and the V6 and smooth ride and dont care about power C240 is a nice choice.
If you want any kind of power and want wood as well, Check out a slightly used C320.
that being said, i got a c240 since i had an option of 0% financing on any 2002 model on the lot. there was S, ML, c-coupe and the c240. i took the c240 since i need a sedan and other are either too small or too big (and i hate SUVs).
as for the c240, i don't race around. the acceleration is slow in numbers, but i would say good enough as compared to other cars on the road, and therefore adequate enough to get you from A to B. ride is quiet and smooth. i'm keeping mine till 200k or it blows up. so far, since 9/16/02, i have 22k+ miles.

But owning a V6 camry with with 190 hp ,and driving the C240 loaner was laughable. You pay 35k and have a Mercedes and its embarrasing that performance was better in my toyota. I have not drivern a C230k so I can't comment on that, but the #s still look weak.
My car is even weak power for its high 40k cost, but its sufficient and good enough and I'm happy with it.
All this being said. I understand when it comes to a certain budget and peoply buy what they can afford.

I have a C240 and have enjoyed driving it for 3 years now. It's not a sports car nor is it meant to be. The V6 gives a smooth ride and lots of torque. For me it is plenty fast enough and I'm sure many C240 owners will agree with me. It is not slow........ You're not paying Mercedes for the 0-60 times alone.
I am used to driving cars like the Alfa GTV 2.0TS and the Golf 1.8Gti Turbo. While the GTV is advertised at 8.5 secs 0-60 and the Golf at 8.0 Secs the C240 seems quicker to me even though it is 9.2 0-60. The BMW 323 is quicker but then .... who want's a wide boys car!!
If you want a sports car then get something else but let's not slag off a perfectly competent and decent car like the C240. Not unless you want to slag off all the other cars as well - for example: Toyota's - well I need say no more - not exactly a car to flash about in the executive car park is it?? It's not comparing like with like.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
If I were you id go with the C32. you should be able to get a really good deal on a used one.
but if you have only enough for a 240 then id go with the 230k, cuz its cheaper and faster.
the 240 is hella slow!
Since you already owned the G35 and if depreciation is a concern, you should just keep your car. The first couple years are going to take the biggest hit so the next couple years should be okay. As far as C240 goes, it's weak compare with the G35. I'd rather drive the G35 than getting a new C240 and you'll be going through the deepest depreciation cycle again with another new car.
The reason why I wan't to jump is because I have already put 35,000 miles on my G in a little over a year.. Where I stand with it now, I can get atleast 5 - 6G out of it to put down on a new car... Well doesnt have to be a brand new car, Im open to getting a 03 or an 02 that I can get a good deal on..
I would ultimately prefer the C320 because then it would only be a 45hp drop as opposed to 98hp drop...
