Question for people with upgraded brakes (spare tire)

Do you know if your spare tire clears your upgraded brakes? Are the spare tires the same between the C32 and other C class models? I've have read that the stock 16's won't clear, but haven't heard anything about the spare tire clearing.

No way can a 16" wheel clear a 13.6 rotor.

ok, thanks... So I guess the only fix for this is to purchase a c32 or c230 spare tire?

Yeah a C32 wheel or C7 wheel from the C class will clear fine.

It should, because while the wheel goes up in diameter, the tire goes down in diameter; usually equalling out. If you know your tire size, I can tell you your overall tire diameter.

overall diameter should be the same...
but i'm wondering if 17x7.5 (225/45R17) will fit since the width is wider than stock 16s...

If you have staggered set up, which wheel and tire width do you use for the spare ?
Thanks

A/C 209 (CLK) Spare Wheel - Big Brakes

The A/C 209 (CLK) spare wheel will the larger brake system. It is what is used in the MY04.5 Sport Sedan and also the C32 beginning with MY03 or MY04. Prior to this spare being available, the C32 used tire fit, aka goo in a bottle.

<sigh>

this is a repeat performance, but I see the frustrations so I'll chime in...

you only need the 'micro tire' that comes with the car. Unless you have some seriously large rear wheels that is...

if you get a flat on the front, simply jack up the rear, take one of the rear wheels off and replace with micro spare...

take rear wheel and replace the front.

yes it's an extra step, yes it's not perfect, but it avoids using foams and doesn't use up your trunk carying a spare.

Hope this helps!

I would like to do this idea, but my rear tire would never fit the front.

C320 Coupe
If you have a coupe, the full size spares in the sedans will not fit. They do have a C32 and C30CDI coupes in Europe. Does anyone know what they use?
