I have a few questions... it currently has about 86k miles...
condition wise looks really good... played around with switches and buttons etc.. electronics and aircon seem to work well.... though didn't do a full test drive yet, however during idle i revved it a little bit...stable idle.. and also shift from park to drive to reverse slowly and steadily.. and it responded firm and quick...
any pointers on key things to look out for? I've requested dealer for service history from MB official in Thailand.
i been following and reading this forum quite a bit leading up to the purchase... i don't know why.. but most amg exhausts on c230s i see on this forum are dual pipes... but the 'amg' sport editions here are larger single oval exhausts...
it's costing me quite a fair bit.. so i am wondering if there are major parts to look out for...?
i'm hiring a MB mechanic to meet me at the show room in 2 days to sign the papers after another round of careful inspection and proper test drive.
A 2007 is actually a 10 year old car in 2015, as it would have most likely been sold in 2006, though the listing says 2008, which would be a 9 year old car.
Anyway, the car looks to be detailed very well, and the paint looks good. The tail pipe looks to be a bit far out from the car to me, and I don't understand the "AMG" on the right (maybe that's a Thai thing that putting some AMG stuff allows you to put it on there?), but otherwise looks ok. Look over the rear quarters for rust, check out all of the end links/bushings, make sure the coolant tank is not cloudy, and so forth. Just for sh*ts and giggles, ask them why the three-pointed star is off the engine cover - may be a sign that it's been worked on.
If I trusted older W203s, I'd say fine, but I don't, so I will just wish you good luck with the purchase.
Well I bought it.. now I realize there are some repairs to address.
Anyways... loving the drive so far.. though sometimes there is an exhaust or perhaps fuel smell in the cabin... I suspect it comes from the rear seats? Fuel tank seal? Or sometimes from the aircon... sending it in for full check at a local garage chain.. and the later on to mb dealer... to compare quotations and see if they agree what may be wrong.
One of the previous owner also seems to have rolled backs the KMs by 50,000...
Drives beautifully though.. smooth transmission... oh yes.. turns out it's a 2006!
Oh thank you... well I do like my rims.. too bad I scratched them on the 1st of Jan! Lol...
Hopefully the car continues to run smoothly for a long time to come... and doesn't cost me too much to service and maintain here... trying to find a nice exhaust note.. as well as drop in stainless steel filters... if they even exist for this model...
