cd changer/radio volume question
Every time I switch from the radio to the cd changer, I get blasted by the volume increase. In my old car stereo system, there was a way to adjust the volumes of the cd changer and the radio in relation to each other. Does the stock Benz system have this? (I assume not, since I did not find it in the manual, but it's worth an ask)

not sure.. i'll wait to see what the others say
Just fiddle, fiddle, fiddle...
hell i still havent really even used to radio yet
i wonder how much simpler the stock headunit is without comand
Anyway, eventually I ended up marking the top of the volume control knob on the head unit. (I used a short length of white-out type correction tape.)
First, reset the volume to the default, then stick the marker at the 12-o'clock position on the knob. Then adjust the volume for each of the three audio sources using the steering wheel controls. Keep the mark on the knob at the 12-o'clock position, and you should have no future problems. And when your friends play with the volume control, you'll know about it and be able to return it to its "default."
One side benefit. If you turn on the stereo with the car not running, the steering wheel volume controls will not work. So you have to adjust the volume with the knob on the head unit. This is just fine, IF you have marked the knob, so you can return it to the top position when you restart the car, otherwise you WILL get "blasted."
Just some random thoughts.
