Brabus Body Kit or Engine Upgrades???

Hey everyone...

Just wanted to get additional opinions on what I should do...

I was actually ready to purchase the brabus body kit any day now, but found out that I can get my hands on a Kleemann K23 Alloy Boost Kit brand new...

basically if I bought the boost kit instead I would also get an upsolute chip upgrade and a bmc air filter...so that i guess would be a performace route instead of show route...

the overall gains of this would be about 38 hp (boost kit), maybe 2 or 3 hp (filter), and between 15-20 hp (chip)...this adds up to between a 55 and 61 hp increase...in reality it won't be this much, but those are the advertised gains...very good in my opinion...

but i also love the brabus body kit and already have the shifter, pins, and exhaust, so that would look very nice on my car too...

what should i do??? i'm confused!!!

brabus or speed

in my opinion if you want a really fast car get another one i will try to make my c320 faster but it will never be a c32 on the other hand if you like the power you have now and just want the car to be more of a sleeper and beat cars that think they can take you thats cool too.. not everyone needs a 13 second car and i know some people would rather mod and make there car unique... as for the brabus body kit unlike your engine mods if someone hits your car the parts will need to be replaced more money in the future and your only gonna get a new car in a few years anyway so i wouldnt go with the body kit... you have to like the car the way it looks rite now because you own it so the kit is not a must... Also imagine the look on the 330ci convertable (auto) driver next to you after you beat him light to light, he will be at the dealer the next day to see if something is wrong with his car LOL..
anyway just an example...

lol...my thoughts exactly...i'm not expecting to turn my car into a beast on the road...but if i could get around 240 hp outta my lil coupe that would be quite impressive and i'd love to smoke a few 330's along the way

i definitely do love the way my car looks now, but i do think that the brabus kit will improve its looks slightly...although I don't think that the recent increase in price is really justified...each spoiler used to cost $525 unpainted, uninstalled...now each one costs $705 and they are the SAME...I emailed brabus to ask why the price changed so much without changing the product...their answer was that the dollar has decreased in value so much compared to the euro and that the prices are subject to change...i guess thats a good answer, but a $220 increase PER piece??? I think that's kinda crazy...just my opinion.

kit

in my opinion the kit will make your call look nicer too... but you spent all your time inside your car while your driving it i would rather be able to feel what i paid for... most people who are not really into benz dont realize the difference anyway... plus brabus has to work out those price issues you were refering too..

i voted for upgrade...
u will be always slightly faster than all other C230Ks....
and u'll feel the gain every moment u drive...
u can't feel the bodykit while u r driving and can always get them later...

idk about that, i think the combo of the boost kit n chip would make a pretty noticable difference...obviously not the filter, but i figured i'd get it if i was already doing the other mods...maybe i'd do a sway bar kit intead...

but im not sure how great i consider the brabus body kit...its definitely nice, but i think if i get it i'd want it to be molded into my car...how costly could that be??

i say go for the kit.... if you wanted better performance, you shoulda just opted for a c320 or a c32.

my reasoning is because if you go for the performance mods. you would spend as much as the difference between the c230 and a larger engined model.

i know where you can get brabus cheap

you have a point as far as the c32 goes, but if i had gotten a c320 i wouldnt really have many modding options performance wise (besides a supercharger which is way too expensive imo)...if i mod my engine with these mods i'll actually be significantly faster than a c320...plus i bought my 02 c230 in dec 01, when there was no such thing as a c320 coupe...

thanks for the opinion though...i'm really torn...not sure which to do....aghhh

do you know somebody there? hook me up if you can...i'd really appreciate it...the brabus prices went up a lot...PM me or email me with any info that would help....thanks!

I would get performance upgrade FIRST, then save up for bodykits later. You are getting somethig for all the money spent.

Cosmetic upgrades could be very costly, first the bodykit, then wheels, then suspension, then brakes etc etc...... There is no actual gain other than the look.

Whatever route that you choose, I am more than happy to help out.

Its very much up to you.

2 choices:

1. you say to yourself "Damn, This is fast !!!"
you feel it everytime you drive.
OR

2. someone say to you "Nice car man...!!!"
people might stare at your car while you pass by.

your choice.
