The real 2005 C-CLASS sport sedan? (PICS)

I generally research various sites on Mercedes Benz.
There is one conflicting argument that keeps popping-up!

Some vow that PIC-1 is the new 2005 C230 Sport Sedan

Others swear that PIC-2 is the new 2005 C230 Sport Sedan

Which is the real "U.S bound" 2005 C-230 Sport Sedan?

PLEASE NOTE: PIC-1 and PIC-2 had different front bumpers?

the top one looks like it has an amg kit on it, so it's more than likely the bottom one that will be coming stateside. although you can always add the kit later.

The bottom picture is a standard non-sport 2005 C-Class, or at least not a North American C-Class Sport. If it's the same car that's on GermanCarFans.com, then it's a C220 CDI.

C-Spot - Charlotte this Weekend

Is anyone going to the Charlotte event this weekend. Perhaps they can verify whether the MY05 C230 and 320 Sport Sedans have the AMG styling package or not.

The new MY05 C230/320 Sport Sedan will have the old C32 AMG body kit, which is shown in Pic 1. The standard C240/320 will have the face-lifted front air dam, which is in Pic 2. They both will have the clear lenses on the headlamps, but Bi-Xenon will still be an option on both! I hope this will clear up the confusion, but please keep in mind that both of these pics are euro. models, so no side marker lights.

Production has just started, or will in a couple of weeks. For our market, look for the new cars to be on the ground sometime in May or June.

The new C55 AMG will have a different front bodywork than all other C-Class models. The majority of the grille is integrated into the front bumper. And from what I remember on the 2005 C230K sedan, the bumper air intake looks much smaller than the one on the C55.

Still, the current C32s are going to look basically like C230s and 320s after this facelift comes out. I mean the ONLY thing that separate the AMGs from the non AMGs were the bodykits from the exterior. Its stupid on MBs part. Id sure be pissed off of I had a C32.

Not necessarily Noble C230!
"If" the new (facelift) 05 C230 does has the same front bumper as the C32 I don't think it should undermine the C32's exclusivity...

...because only the C32 will have the following:

AMG badges
AMG wheels
AMG brake calipers
Larger Side skirts – (Left / Right under body sills)
Larger Rear bumper
Twin tip exhaust
Not to mention the distinct interior and under the hood.

=================

Honestly can someone end this ordeal and post an ACTUAL PICTURE OF THE NEW 05 C230?

Maybe someone who's been to the C-Spot in U.S.A can post it!

I'd disagree. There's nothing wrong with the C-class having the AMG bodykit, the AMG kit for the C32 is not exclusive to began with outside of the States. It has been an option for many other countries.

Further more, if you look at the S-class, the CLK500 and the W210 E-class, they all have/had the AMG kit as standard feature or optional feature in the States. No one seems to be complaining that the E430 sport looks like the E55 other than the wheels and exhaust and CLK430/500 looks like the CLK55 other than the exhaust.

one the E500 and CL/SL/S it is a $5,000 option. What are you they going to make it standard on the C class?

i'm sure new C230K buyers won't mind having upgraded bodykit... even if it uses C32's bodykit and look alike, the engine is still DIFFERENT! who knows, maybe C230K's front bumper maybe be cheaper than C32's front bumper... which is good for those who are interested in changing the bodykit...

...Sorry, no exterior pics, but the car had an AMG-like front bumper, plus the turn signals on the mirror look slightly different.

Member "whatup?" you were there at the C Spot!

So which one is it, PIC-1 or PIC-2? (disregard the front side marker lights)

Does the new C230 sport sedan have the C32 AMG front bumper or what?

Look at my last post on thread: 2005 C230K Sedan Interior Pics --- C Spot

BTW: I did read MarcusBenz reply. I just need to hear it from someone who was actually at the C-SPOT this year.

Yes, I was at C-Spot...and I figured there would be 1000 other MBWorld nerds there taking pictures, so I opted against taking exterior shots. Bad choice.

As I remember, the C230K sedan on display had the C32 front bumper, or at least something very similar.

It definitely did NOT have the same bumper as the car slytoksy just posted. I'm pretty sure that is the new bumper that will be on the non-sport C-Class.
