Need help with door protection

This morning I caught some a**hole flinging his car door open and whacking my black C240. From the looks of it, there was a scuff but no real damage. This got me thinking... what can I do to protect my doors from idiots like this from doing further damage to my car. Are there any kits available that can protect the metal from a door ding.

there are those rubber pieces u put on the edge of all doors, but that's to prevent u from dinging other cars when u open the door... plus it downgrades the look of the car IMO...

the only solution is park as far as possible from the other car...
my favorite spot is the space in the corner where u have extra room to park.... and there's only 1 car next to u...

There is a company (I will look for the name tonight) that sells magnetic rubber bumper strips that go on your doors and cannot be stolen becasue the loop inside the door frame also....they are designed specifically to prevent this type of idiot from denting your doors.....
Has anyone else seen what I am talking about?

I'm interested as well.

I always park far away and do a once around when I get back to my car.

OK guys, tried to find it last night but could not locate the company. If anyone gets Car & Driver magazine I think the ads are in the back of that. They usually show a car in a garage with another car parked close to it with the door opened onto the strip, and I want to say the strip is yellow in color (I dont know if that is the only color or not the sell them in).

The same company sells the strips that hang from the ceiling of a garage to always be between the cars so neither car dings the others doors.....but I guess that must be for people with kids or such, cause what set of adults that actually gives a crap enough to buy these would ding the doors of their own cars????

If I run across a C&D I will look in there...I will check the web also...

HERE IT IS!!!!!!!!

www.doordings.com

The "dingguard."

This is exactly what I was thinking of, but I did not see where it had the theft protection (wrap inside door) but on many cars, since it is black, it may look like door trip that could not be removed anyhow.......

Happy shopping and ding protection....

most magnets will adhere through cloth.....perhaps just glue a thin cloth to the magnet to protect the paint....or keep the magnets clean....after all, they would be YOUR magnets.

Peeling them off and placing them on could not be that bad, unless you handle them poorly and slide them around....then I would agree....

Agreed, thats an idea...as far as sliding around, I wan't worried about me, I was worried if someone hits my door would it slide, in turn scratching the paint worse then a small ding.
