... And I thought I was looking at a fleet of C32 AMGs. When is the last time you saw a 325i with an M body kit? It will never happen as BMW takes care of its M brand. MB is continuing to dilute AMG. Ive only seen a C32 a few times in my life on the road, they looked somewhat distinctive with the AMG kit. I was seriously looking at a used C32 in the future but not with this crap. For those who bought there 05 C class, im not hating on your cars, but just disgusted by MBs decision making. Oh well, whatever sells I Guess.

the side skirts and aprons were different on the C32's then the sedans. now the new aprons and side skirts for the 05 sport sedan look similar, but remember the C55 has a CLK front end, deck lid spoiler, and i dont think it will look similar to the sport sedans at all, except for being a C class.

You dont have to worry about MB dilutin the AMG brand. The new AMG C55 is quite distinctive to the 05 sport models. First of all it has a completly different grill and headlights. It is about 5 inches longer. The front underbody kit is different. In the back it gets a 4 exhaust.
In conclusion AMG is always an AMG, a non AMG cannot be an AMG by having the body kit and a couple of AMG bages.
BTW BMW now offeres performance package, with the underbody skirt looks like an M. But you can always make out an M by the side vent or what ever that is.

How about the 05' C-class compared to 02-03' AMG? From exterior view, the only different is the tail pipe. I bought my 03' AMG because it had the special appearance, now, when the 05' came out, my car lost the values immediately.

With all due respect, if you bought your '03 for the way it looks, as opposed to the way it drives, you already have more money than you need.
No C230k of any vintage is going to drive like your AMG - if that isn't enough, what exactly do you need? Why spend the money in the first place - it's easier and cheaper to buy the various cosmetic add-ons, if appearance is the main thing that matters? That's always been true, and will be out into the future.
I'm mystified by that set of priorities, but then, to each their own...

seriously some of you guys are acting like it's the end of the world, it's ridiculous. it's like you guys never knew AMG bodykits was available for the C-class as the AMG evolution or AMG sport pkg through out the world. Or maybe this is all NEWS to you?

I think I missed a lot of stuff when I was typing my thread because I was working in my office. Therefore, I have no chance to double check before I post.
The reason that I bought my C32 because it have a powerful horsepower compared to a CLK500 (my first choice) - Also, I could save at least $20,000 (Cdn. $) (C32 vs. CLK500) that can beat the M3 logically (is it?). The last reason that I chose the C32 because of its aggresive appearance.
I was pissed off because my C32 cannot be identified easily if people are looking at the front compared to the 05 C-class.
Hope, you guys will not mad of me.

yeah but the model line is getting a facelift. therefore the C32 you bought is distinctive from other C's of it year or prior. the C55 will be distinctive from other C's of its year or prior. you cant expect the other models in the line up not to get changes for the better. just my $.02.

It's called progression....MB sees the trend of people modding their cars, so they follow it. Every car company does this, as models get updated every few years.

guys answer this question
When is the last time you saw a 325ci with a M bodykit as standard equipment?
I sure hope a $35,000 car and a $55,000 looks distinctively different. Im not questioning the AMGs performance or credentials compared to a C230, that is absurd. But it is also absurd to slap on a bodykit to make the looks identical to that of AMG cars.

It is becoming quite apparent that these people who own c32 AMG's want them to look different with the intention of impressing people. Now that their so-called perceived individuality is gone they feel as if they've been reduced in stature.
How shallow and insecure is that?
Appreciate it for what it is, a pure driver's car. You don't like it? Go get somethin' else.

MB is just tyring to sell more C classes and is not wasting money on a new look.
They know the market loves the AMG look so they whored it the **** out.
I own both cars and all I can say is when I commute in my C230K it's feels like the car does not even move.
Then I get in the C32 and feel a gazzilion times better...
I am going to wait till 06 and get the 07 model AMG
During that time I will enjoi kicking the crap out of every poser AMG I see..

It is kind of quick..kind of..but stock the 04.5 I have handles really good and the wheels/ brake package blows the C320 away.

Handling was about even in my book. both 320 sport and 230k. There was still roll and floaty ride. only downside the C class in general is handling which can be fixed.

Not to sure, but I never saw a C320 sport with 13 inch cross drilled AMG Brakes or staggard wheels?
The C230Ksedan is not boaty IMO at all, In fact it is very tight and responds well. I was very suprised.

There AMG options on the other E,S,CL models but they are NOT standard equipment, rather $5,000 options. your choice to look like a AMG or not. rather than have it standard equipment like a C Class. even the CLK500 suffers from this.
