I just received my 05 C230K SS two days ago. I ordered entertainment package with the car, and I realized that there are only one "Harman Kardon" badge on the whole car, and that is located at the rear deck of the driver side. You really need to look hard to find the badge! I was thinking, why would they put the badge only on one side of the speaker when there are two speakers on the rear deck? At one point of the time, I even thought that some people at the dealership probably stole it, but I dont think anybody would be so broing to take ONE badge off my car. Anybody here can help me take a look of your car that's with Harman Kardon stereo?

Another question is that, there suppose to be 12 speakers for HK stereo, I found only 8..... 2 front tweaters, 2 front door speakers, 2 rear door speakers, 2 rear deck speakers..... where are the other 4??

I think the dealer sold you on the idea that the H/K package was installed when it was just the standard. They quick found a H/K decal and slapped it on the spkr.

There are not 2 speakers on the rear deck. The right side is a dummy. Left side is a subwoofer. Right side was originally for a first aid kit holder which was removed after 01. My car has 1 center speaker, 2 tweeters, 2 front speakers, 2 rear door speakers, and 1 sub. This is the bose system though. not sure about HK.

Going by what others have said about the HK stereo, I tend to think that there is one sub in the rear, 1 center speaker upfront in the middle of the dash?, 2 speakers in each door(2-way) and an additional 2 tweeters upront, totaling 12. And as long as you are satisfied with the sound, who cares if the HK logo is not displayed. I listened to the HK system on a test drive, just the radio, and I have to say I was impressed.

Couldn't find it. But I thought someone here posted a link regarding the HK setup at one time. BTW; MB puts co-axial speakers into the rear doors and counts those as 2 each.

What color did you get? I recently purchased a Diamond Black with the entertainment package, and the lighting package. The car is only two weeks old and it has been to the dealer twice already. The SRS light and now the display on the stereo has gone out. Everything still works but there is no display on the dash. The dealer says that there is a three to four week back order and that they have to come from Germany. Its a great feeling having a new Benz with broken sh*@!! Just though that I would give you guys a heads up.

I got the Obsidian Black. I have to say this color is the best, I am so impress with this black metallic color, especially under the sun. I only had the car for 3 days, so far so good. Hopefully wont have any problem. My dad used to have a 2004 E500, and we got the same problem with the SRS light came on, brought back to dealership to fix it 3 times in two months. But the good thing is that the MBUSA gave my dad a brand new one after a year because they couldn't retrofit the DVD Navigation system into our car as they promised when we purchased the car. Those electronic system is just too "high-tech" than they are able to do so.

Thats normal. I noticed the same thing on my C55, looks weird but there all like that.
