Fog lights working with Auto light setting

Tried to get it done today and found out the foglight doesn't have fuse. The fuse diagram paper says "electronic" instead of fuse number.
So we concluded that we can only "hardwire" the foglight to turn on with the engine/headlight. I am still thinking about if I will go to that route (cut the existing fog wires and hard wire to the fuse box).

i think they will sometimes come on though, for example when it's raining. today i was driving home in the rain and my lights came on, and on the reflection in the car ahead of me, i noticed 2 sets of lights on....i'm almost positive my fog lights were on with my headlights. i could just be a dumbass though, one of the two.

you pull out on the headlamp switch, first "click" is your front foglights, second is the rear foglight and front foglights together.Two lights should come on by the switch, too. The headlamp switch has to be set on the parking lights or the headlights in order for the switch to pull out.

Hey how do we know our cars have foglights or aux driving lights? A friend of mine from Europe argue that our cars dont have foglights (like the ones on Subaru's) but aux driving lights. And thats why we can have it on with only city lights too (I'm told its illegal in US to have just citylights and foglights on). So is this true?

yes in most states it is, but you can get away with it most of the time. if a cop wanted to be an *******, which most are then they can ticket you just because.

I guess it all depends, if the cop is in front of you, or behind you.
Kinda the same thing with the front license plate issue in CALI. Most cops won't take the time to make a U-turn and pull you over because they saw you from the front only using city-lights & fog (aux) lights, or not having a front license plate, or having white side markers.
Those cops that pull you over from behind, are too lazy to check your front out, so that's why the majority of the time you get away with it. If you're an @$$ and give 'em a hard time, they might just check your entire car out and cite you for the BS little things...

1) The C-class MB is legalized in all 50 states.
2) What states has those requirements?
3) What states/county/city has laws on this that override federal law?
4) Therefore if they ticket you aren't they really saying MB doesn't meet requirements and therefore MB has to fix it for free. Ref the issue with the E320CDI being legal in what, 45 or so states.
Just some food for thought.

i had to sign a waiver when my car arrived to acknowledge i know that front plates are a state requirement and i declined to have the front plate holder installed.

The front plate is not mandatory in Wisconsin, but those b@st@rds still drilled the holder onto my bumper!!! I swear I told the stealership thrice about not drilling holes on my front bumper. Oh my! I'm replacing my old one with an AMG for sure....
