c240 misfire cly 4 6 and 6






I then I hit the gas and then the CE light came on. I reset it again and hit the gas lightly and shut it of an ran the codes it said only 2 cly misfired.
So the if I don't touch the gas after a reset of the codes the car run fine . When I rev the engine it is smooth for about 8 seconds then the CE light comes on and the engine idles rough and go to crap again
So after a reset of the CE once I give it gas it goes to crap any idea CLY 4 5 6 drivers side



SO off the mechanic 45 min away cause there is no way I'm going to the dealer.

How do you know simple common sense . Run the car touch the exhaust cold side is clogged it is that easy
There are 2 cats forward and rear . I cut the pipe in half under the drivers side seat. Then I removed 2 bolts on the front cat to engine manifold.
I ran hot water threw is not clog. Then I ran a air hose out the back piece and sure enough not flow out the back BINGO rear cat clogged.
Now I ran a peace of wire to see if the front cat blew apart clogged the rear cat. The ran a coat hanger into the front cat and it did not go threw telling me the front cat seemed all there.
I bought a mini cat on amazon 40.00 that matches the old one. I then cleared the codes and reinstalled the front pipe and then preyed the rear pipe down 3 inches with a block of wood so there would be flow and I can drive the car. A bit load but at lease drivable. I paid the welder at a muffler shop 80.00 to install the rear cat and weld the cut I made to remove the front cat.
So instead of paying 1700 my 1 st quote for a mechanic I trust. I did the work my self for 120.00 . I did have to pay the 1 mechanic 240.00 for diags cause I'm an idiot and did not use common sense.
