Question about Euro mirrors

I was wondering if the Euro mirrors help at night? Currently, the small stick on mirror works well during the day but is not very helpful at night..

Where can I purchase the Euor mirrors? I checked with the dealer in the bay area and they quoted $380/$88 for auto_dimming/non. Is there a dealer that is cheaper?

Doug,

The euro mirrors are really nice. They are convex on the outer end of the mirrors. I use them all the time and it's much safer driving as the blind spot is eliminated.

i have them as well i like them very much. my driver side broke in my accident and steve sent me an e-class convex mirror by accident. im waiting for my 203 mirror to arrive. the E-Class mirror melted. I dont know how the wiring is different but for future reference, dont install a 211 mirror. the top piece melted and it looks like a fishbowl inside.

back to the topic i do find the convex mirrors helpful and wouldnt have a car without them. i had them on my VW and they were a must have for my MB.

Both Steve and I screwed the drivers mirrors too when trying the w211 mirror on a w203. I'm waiting on a replacement also.

it was weird, the top portion melted and the fluid inside started coming out. i think it has something to do with the purple wire that runs up to the top portion of the mirror. steve sent me a standard mirror to use until my new convex mirror arrives. the 211 mirror is ruined and pretty much useless at this point.

What is an Euro Mirror? ...Is it like the mirror that changes at night when bright light hits it? Does anyone have a pic they could post of it?

the end of the mirror has a convex shape to it. there is a line vertically on the mirror. the end 1 1/2" or so of the mirror is angled outward so you can see more of the traffic in your blind spot. it eleimnates having to put a little bubble looking thing on your mirror. i have the convex mirrors on driver and passenger side. well im waiting for my driver side replacement.

Be sure to specify the year since the early W203's had smaller mirrors. I have the convex mirror taken from my 02 C320 but it won't fit the current C Class cars. I paid about $150 in Germany two years ago. It would be more now due to the drop in value of the dollar. I bought a convex glass in Germany for my 05 E320 CDI and noticed it had a W203 part number. I asked the clerk if he had given me the wrong part and he said the W203 and W211 mirror glass are the same.
