It sure is not at all plain when you see it in person. I did sit in an S60R a few months ago - it makes the W203's interior (which I like, BTW) pale in comparison. Nice thick leather steering wheel, perfectly ergonomical arrangement of controls and gauges, nice materials and fit.

maybe the pics of the interior dont do it justice. the S60 i saw at a volvo dealer, i wasnt impressed. mind you it wasnt an R.

There isn't any major difference between the R and normal Volvos besides the tachos

Volvo interiors are generally not too shabby
