Here the previous thread, "BUYING ADVICE"
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ng-advice.html
Decided to post all future updates about the car here in this thread.
Below pics just received from my Buddy in Long Beach, car is ready for the trip to its Final Destination here in Sacramento tomorrow.

Today, my son and I took the time to give it a nice detail and wash.
What a mess, unbelievable to me each and every time I purchase a used car how peeps dirty up their cars. There must have been a Starbucks Cup of Latte spilled in there once, and not properly cleaned up, as it was a dirty, sticky mess.
Shampooed all Carpets, washed the seats and door panels, cleaned out the trunk and organized the tool kit, which was all over the place.
Car needs a few items addressed:
- Seems like the turn signal stalk is bad and must be replaced. Whenever you turn on the turnsignal, the wiper starts to wipe 3, 4 times.
Out of the blue, the windshield washer starts shooting water and the wipers go of as well. At least we know why the wiper fluid reservoir was empty.
- Passenger Front Wheel Well has the Splashguard Plastic Piece missing. Will order and attach.
- There are a few of the plastic push pins missing for the trunk liner. Will as well order and attach.
- Rear window tint needs to be redone.
Overall, I am pretty pleased with my purchase. Car drives and shifts as it should, rides awesome.
After the detail job, I took Junior and let him drive in an industrial area parking lot.

That will require steering wheel and clock spring removal, which is easily searchable.

I recall seeing a complete tear down and requirements post, step by step.
ensure you’re searching with the web browser, not the app.

I will however let me trustworthy mechanic troubleshoot and take care of it.
Trending Topics
I did this job on my daughter’s 2003 C230. Fiddly but straightforward. Hardest part was removing the steering wheel bolt. Really struggled until I got a HF Earthquake XT impact. It blasted it off.
I might have been able to fix the broken wire but I had already ordered the replacement.
I always plan to do a deep clean on a used car. Quality materials usually clean up well. It looks like a really nice car. Does your soon like it?

Car is currently at my trustworthy mechanic, who went through the car.
It is indeed the turnsignal stalk/lever causing the issues. Mechanic ordered a new stalk, which will hopefully be available on Monday.
Car needed an oil change, as Service A was due, it was also recommended to change/flush the brake fluid.
Other than that, he could not find anything wrong with the car. No leaks, nothing. So I am pretty happy with that!!!!!
YES, my son loves the car. He absolutely had to have a manual, so when I saw this deal, I had to get it for him.

Not sure where you are located, but try to find a used manual stick shift car in decent shape in CA, let alone a Mercedes.

ChrisTheSweede and others have posted tons.
The upper control panel might need a new connector. Biggest change in electronics is the sunshade, if you have one.
HVAC the same thing.
Dash cluster should swap with a new/viginized eeprom unit. Coded to car, it should fire up. Only issue might be the fuel sending unit between facelift and original.
All trim swaps out.
a face lifted retrofit interior to that car and DANG.

The interior of that car is pristine, the dash cluster has solid and crisp, like new pixels.
Seats as well are like new, so I will not be spending any monies on swapping anything.
If my son decides he wants a new head unit for it, he can buy one himself.
With two kids myself I understand and support that. I had to buy my first car and it’s power plant.
I was more suggesting for a few bucks online he could bring the car up to a very contemporary interior with slight wire end changes, if you or he choose to. Don’t be afraid of it. Staying away from the MOST system and bypassing with a aftermarket head unit would certainly save massive amounts of frustration.
There are quite a few that look 80-85% OEM to the facelift.

- New Turnsignal/Wiper Staulk
- Oil and Filter Change
- Brake Fluid Flush
- Missing Passenger side Front Fender Splash Guard installed.
Mechanic was all impressed about the condition of the car, and it being a manual.👍
So, all good for now, until we address the remaining cosmetical issues.

All that is left is to replace this ugly, bubbly tint on the vehicle. Also the rear bumper is needing some attention, as it is cracked on one side and sagging.
Once this is all addressed, I say the car will be as good as new, with currently only 60,084 miles on the clock.
