Feels safer to me. There's a thread somewhere that talks about programming this, but just so you don't have to search, here's what you do:

Hold down the Unlock and Lock button (at the same time) on your Key Fob until the red LED blinks.

It's as simple as that. I'll tell you this, I didn't even see the red LED blink cuz I did it during the daytime, so I just held it down for a minute or so and it did the trick.

Not sure. I'd assume it would be the same functions to set it back to the previous setting (all doors open at once). Just found out about the function yesterday doing a Search for different functions and came across it.

Just to clarify, here's a scenario:

Push unlock once - unlocks the driver side door / car chirps 3 times

Push unlock 2nd time - unlock passenger doors / car chirps 3 times?

For those of you who have enabled the Netherlends settings, could you please let me know.

Thanks.

I can change mine tonight and let you know.

With the Netherland setting the car will beep 3 times on lock and 1 time on un-lock. I just programmed my remote to just open the drivers door on the first press, and I get one beep. The second press to un-lock the rest of the doors will give another single beep.

Can I do this chirp thing on my dad W203 which in Asia? The car doesnt have panic button on the key anyway so I was thinking probably I can just set the car to Netherland setting. Can somebody please verify this..Sunman, Steve??

If this can be done, I will do it once I go back to my country. About the DAS, I think I can ask help from one of the mechanic in the dealership in my country.
Thanks in advance..

Yes, it does. The procedure toggles back and forth. All this is revealed in the owner's manual.

Thanks Sunman....Unfortunately, I might not be able to do this until July this year. I am so looking forward to do this.

I like the chirp sound so I can know it's locked since the windows are tinted and the tint is metallic.

One more question, do u know if we can do it on ML-class by any chance?

Thanks again

I like the panic button!
When you walk into a crowded parking lot, and can't find your car...oh sh_t! Panic!!
EZ to find it when it's howling!

I do see movie stars every day, but they have given up on MB products. Mostly they park a huge Range Rover, or a dinky Toyota Golf Cart (Prius) on the lot, and beep their alarms. I am happy that my car does not beep, and I'd be just as happy if it did not flash the damn lights.

If you get the interior motion sensor (IMS) can you still have the alarm beep? does the car need to be set to netherlands or mexico? or are these two different settings?

and didn't Steve from the MBenzNL just recently figure out how to program the car to have both the alarm beep and the panic button together??
I miss my panic button.

That's B.S.! There are directions somewhere on this forum on how to have it switched to Netherlands settings.

One of the dealerships I go to wanted to charge me to switch to the Netherlands settings, so I didn't do it.

Not sure what "recently" is to you, but it's been "a while" for us that we could do it...

Not clear on what you want me to explain ... "we could do it" means we have been able to set the beep on lock/unlock and retain the panic alarm. Initially it was by setting the Netherlands setting and then reactivating the panic alarm; on some cars it is by setting the US setting with buzzer; more recently we would just use the US setting and activate the beep.

could you explain it so that i can tell my dealer what to click on the star computer? they are clueless, i can't just tell them to set the Netherlands setting and then reactivate the panic alarm, they will say HUH?
what are the steps for them to get both the alarm beep and panic button?
thanks
