I agree totally with SteveS. I think most of us in this community are here to share their experience and thoughts about their cars. A simple question from someone new or not familiar with something is just lame and inconsiderate.

Missing my beloved Benz
Boy... my dealer charges me $525.00 for a service B... I SO know they do more then just change the oil and window washer blades! As what was said earlier, the manual has detail about it.

I personally think it's rude and elitist to answer everything that was previously discussed with "use the search feature" or "RTFM n00b" -- it gives people the wrong idea about what kind of community they're joining, and probably just keeps people from asking questions in the first place -- and instead end up getting ripped off by the dealer or somebody else.
By the same token, I think it's lazy and asinine to ask something before searching for the info. The Service A vs. B has been discussed in almost every folder here, as well as being available on most dealer's website.
But getting back on track...
There's a good explanation on the W208 folder about this...
https://mbworld.org/forums/showpost....2&postcount=19
Whether this is worth the price that the dealers charge or not is still up to debate throughout the forums... and I don't think anybody ever posted about how to reset the FSS counter either.

hey, how'd i do?
but I had:
battery serviced (and load test)
tire rotation (and balance if needed)
brake fluid flush and replace (every two years)
cooling system flush and replace (every three years)
cabin dust filter
wiper blade
inspect poly V-belt (serpantine belt)
check fluid levels (pwr steering, battery level, winshield washer)
inspect brakes
inspect for any leaks - engine, transmission, hoses
inspect drive axle boots, front ball joints
clean & lube throttle linkage
lube hood catch and hinges
in addition to the oil & oil filter change.
