OK, OK, the REAL king of 2 door sport coupes is....10 years old?

I may get flamed pretty hard for this, but every time I see a C230 coupe (or BMW 318C hatchback for that matter), I love my '92 Corrado more and more. And so do most of the C230/318 drivers, by the look of their faces and the way they twist and contort in their seats to get a better look as I drive by. It's pretty common to get comments from strangers or people waiting in the parking lot to ask, "Is that a Corrado", or, "Would you sell it?" Can't image much of that happing for the owners of the aformentioned models from Benz and BMW. Oh, and I've never had to see taillights from either of these cars from my Corrado, if you catch my drift. Some nuts have modded these with turbos and increased displacement to 300+ hp (The 2.8 l 172hp VR6 is the one to own, the G60 with supercharged 4 banger isn't too exciting except to import racers for modding). My VR6 is slightly modified and chipped to about 190 hp. 16" BBS RX's too.

I'll miss my Corrado dearly when I sell it...It took AMG to woo me ...

In case you haven't seen one, hear's some nice looking ones from the Corrado Club of America web site.

C230 kompressor C2 C7
i think the corrodo is a great car, my first car was a scricco(first generation) i would have loved to buy a corrodo, but that was an expensive car back then. i would love to have one today as my second car. (my daily door ding mobile) i don't think yours would qualify though. i think you will find that the people in this forum are pretty accepting of other cars, most of them own at least two. the corrodo is a fair comparison, but it is a bit long in the tooth. there is more than power to weight when comparing cars though. if not we would all be driving a z28(ick) you have a nice car none the less

I agree with SDCACLINT. It was a very expensive car back then. I think it was VW's first try at getting rid of their "cheap car" image. The few Corrado owners I've met over the years, however, had only good things to say about their car.

Nice car, wrong site. I'll keep my C230- RWD, rear seat room trump this VWs highest card- rear end styling IMO.

Still missing my corrado

I had a 93 SLC VR6, it was a gem, my dream car... until it was rearended by a suburban. The guy was drunk, talking on his cell phone, and didnt realize traffic on the highway had come to a stop, until he hit me at 70mph. what a mess. At any rate I do miss that car, and find alot of similarities in the coupe.

MB coupe.
Good looking.

Those are fine looking cars, I have always admired them.

How was it for reliability??

Awaiting a new arrival...
I still own a 93 Corrado VR6, that only has 22k miles on it. The car is possessed, seriously, as it has been wrapped up in a respray for a year and a half that just can't get done right. ABT 3.1L motor, coilovers, Recaros, Video and DVD, Euro mods etc...and so many other mods it is ridiculous. Once it is finished, I will shoot pics. It has been driven under 100 miles in the last 4 years, as I went crazy on the modifications. Sigh...

I have my C230 when I am home to enjoy, anyway.

As far as reliability goes, it was pretty good. Like I mentioned, I'd aviod the G60, cause if your g-lader supercharger goes out (and it will eventually), you're looking at a heafty repair (probably not unlike a MB) But the VR6 is pretty solid. The only big thing that happened with mine was a leaky head gasket that was repaired under the extended warranty - Gotta love the extended warranty. Got my C36 with one, too...

Well, the VR6 is the weakest of the two. I personally would go with the G60, and forgo the wait for the g-lader to blow, and just drop in the twin-screw lysholm from Bahn Brenner.

My roommate has that engine in his Jetta Coupe, ......... it kicks ***. He was running over 20 lbs of boost with stock bottom end!!

14.1@101mph spinning tires through 3rd gear in the 1/4 at 17lbs boost!!!

Of course, he works at Bahn Brenner, so we're a little biased.
