Cool Ordering Car.

Hi All,

I am new to this board and have a couple of questions if you don't mind.

I ordered my 2002 C230 around the end of April and the dealership said that it would be built this Friday and not be here until June/July. I didn't have to give them a deposit at all.

I am waiting for a insurance settlement that God willing will be to me by the end of July-beginning of August. I can't get the car before then because I need the settlement to pay for the car.

How long has it taken any of you to get your car after you have ordered it? The internet manager told me I would pay $200 above invoice and mentioned something about some $600 advertising fee that is built into the price of the car etc. etc.
Has anyone come across this fee?

I am driving a Saturn SC2 right now and have never "haggled" with the dealer as Saturn is a one price store. I have been doing homework and finding out invoice etc, but that advertising thing has me a bit concerned.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Laura

Your car should arrive at the end of June - mine took seven weeks from end-of-build to delivery.

The deal you really got was $800 above invoice, the advertising fee is BS. This is still not a bad deal - most dealers in the Bay Area are selling the car at MSRP firm, although dealers in southern CA have been offering the car at less than MSRP.

Cheers, BT

Ordering Car

Hi..

I am dealing with the internet department of Mercedes Benz Laguna Niguel.

I ordered my car about a month ago and they didn't ask for a deposit (which I thought was kind of strange).

Sam (the manager) told me he would sell it for $200 above invoice and then told me about the $600 advertising charge that all Mercedes Benz dealers are charging.

I feel kind of stuck for a few reasons (although I don't have to take the car)..

It is right down the street from me and I will need a loaner should anything happen - and from what I have been reading, it just might!

It is a 2002, with Orion blue, Oyster Leather, C1, C2, C4, C7. I have been looking on a few lots and haven't found anything close.

I can't buy it right off the lot right now since I am waiting for an insurance settlement to come in. I might be screwed on that anyway, since if my car comes in before the settlement, I won't be able to get it. I have to wait until I get the settlement. I am upside down on my Saturn and I wanted to put a good chunk down on this car and keep the payments low (can't lease... I drive too many miles).

What would you guys do?

THanks,

Laura

$200 over invoice? That is an incredible deal if you mean invoice and not MSRP.
