On page 262 of the '05 Operator's Manual, in the tire speed rating section, is the following text: "An electronic speed limiter prevents your vehicle from exceeding a speed of 130 mph (210 km / h)."

here is the major question.. is your car a 6spd or auto? the 6spd's tend to not have the limiter. The automatics do..

BTW, plan on relinquishing that thin slip of plastic from you wallet, called the Operator's License, if a cop catches you going 137 on a public street.

My 6 speed is at 132 ish. May be at the 130 speed but the speedo is off at that speed or that may be just when it decided to actually kick in and slow the car down! I have never hit it myself, but my wife has when someone pissed her off and she wanted to get away from them! She has a little problem with Road Rage on some days!!!!

yah...... it tops out at 132 for me as well. Sometimes on a downhill it will go to 135 and then drop back down to correct iteself. I think I was the one that posted a thread about that... haha. We had a lengthy discussion regarding this a while back..... not trying to sound **** but if you search for that thread I think you might find a ton more info. I remember some people posting the differences in VMAX for Euro vs US as well as any differences in SS and AUTO.
BTW... not only will you lose the platic but you will get a go to jail card instantaneously for going that fast.
Best of luck,

At that speed, you can kill yourself or even hurt someone you do not even know! People like you make me very upset, because it was someone like you that hit my car and injured me. And now I have to live my life with that damage to my brain.

You should put a gun to your head and kill yourself without hurting others! You have a death wish and it is showing.

Speeds are the number one killers on our highways.

Another perspective is that bad driving is the major hazard endangering motorists. From the large number of miles I accumulate each year, I would rank the bad driving as follows: obstructing the passing lane; cellular telephone usage; absence of attention to driving; tailgating; poor lane control; speeds in excess of conditions and driving while impaired.

Changing from no enforcement of laws, for the first three hazards, to strict enforcement, would have a significant improvement of the problems we all endure on a daily basis. I have witnessed a state trooper tailgating, swerving and cursing a lane obstructer, instead of issuing a much deserved moving violation. Until that attitude changes, there will never be the next significant step in highway safety improvement.

For a 2003 C230K Coupe (auto), the top speed is 217 km/h, which is exactly 135mph.

Only have a pic at 212, but yes, the car wouldn't go faster than 217, even downhill.

Speed itself doesn't kill as long as you aren't being stupid about it.

How would driving a car at 132 mph while taking digital photographs be categorized?

Perfectly straight highway, no hills/inclines, broad daylight, zero traffic, clear + unlimited visibility, sunny and dry, keeping the eyes on the road and not on the camera, both hands on the wheel (one hand gripping the wheel + camera), hoping at least 1 pic would turn out (which did, but not at 217). Definitely wouldn't try this in any other situation.

Tried using a passenger but then I had to shift my whole body over so he could squeeze the camera in, which was definitely not cool.

Kinda makes you wonder how ppl take those dash pics while going 320km/h... 200 was scary enough.
