Anyone ever thought of "converting" or adding additional exhaust tips to their '05 C230 Sport Sedan to resemble the '05 C55 quad exhaust?

Any ideas? Part#s? fake tip? Type of exhaust? Just pondering......

I'v been wantin to do it for ages, couple of member here has done it with either two proper muffler or with extended tips. I'll go with extended tips.
Having a proper side by side muffler is hard to do for our car, C55 can do this because it has a centered wheel well, while our car bit more to the other side. Search around and u'll see some picture of Carlsson setup or Fab setup.

 

Don't worry, i'll post it. First two are Carlsson set up, last one are from MH Dezent or some other tuner.

id like to do dual exhaist tips for my car. PTS first though!

 

I like the MH Dezent setup, but they are expensive, and plus I like to keep the AMG tip.

 

Performance Products sells a "fake" quad exhaust similar to the one that is posted above. I think it is $720 or so...not too bad. The 4 ports do work, just they are not cat-back.

I have ordered the entire C55 exhaust including all neded hardware (including but not limited to, listed in no particular order: shileds, complete exhaust piping with mufflers, exhaust tips --they all come welded into one piece for each side--, joints, bushings, links, etc, etc, etc, etc and MORE etc

The parts also include the new spare tire well that MUST be replaced from my C32 so that the C55 exhaust can be fitted. This means body work, which is very duable, feasible, non-intrusive as the spare tire well is designed to be crushed in case of an accident... I just didn't have any accident, I am just having it removed and the C55 well installed, that means new spare tire, new tools as the C32 tools don't fit in the compartment with the new C55 spare tire, blah, blah, blah

Cost: Expensive (that means more than a little and less than a lot ).
My vehicle is in the final stages of retrofiting the entire OEM AMG C55 exhaust. Though this is more expensive than the pseudo Carlsson "quad" exhaust




If you (anyone who is interested) are contemplating on purchasing a Carlsson quad exhaust as seen on the pic above, you are already 60% of the way to get the whole C55 exhaust. With the Carlsson exhaust set up, there is a litle power drop due to the change/configuration of the muffler itself. ANy other "replicas" or cheaper stuff out there are just too scary to install on a C32... same or worse effect on power would have any of the cheaper pieces on ANY W203. Obviusly, Carlsson, Lorinser and the other big goy brands have the least intrusive effect on a vehicle regarding any negative or adverse performance.

I will be posting pictures as soon as the work is completed... current ETA???>.. haha!!!... soon, very soon... I just have to wait for the Labor day holidays to end and arrange to make a "hole" on my schedule to pick up my car and so forth.

I have a quick question? Somebody tapped my bumper, so instead of having it fixed I am going to put on a new one with a new quad exhaust. I called the Dealership and they told me that the C55 Exhaust will not fit on the c320. I even asked them if I had the bumper modified and they said that it will not fit the chassie. What is the truth? will the AMG exhaust fit the C320 with a modified bumper. I want to know bwfore I purchase the carlson exhaust and bumper kit.

 

My guess is, the C320 underbelly should be the same as the C32; at least from the tranny back. So as Wiedermann wrote, it should be doable. I'd wait until Wiedermann completes his install, and "hopefully!" posts a write-up on it.

 

damn that sucks ernster. sorry to hear someone tapped you. atleast your making the best out of a bad situation and getting some mods thrown in the mix.

The C55 bumper rear bumper can be fitted onto a comparable W203 chasis so as long as you have the AMG body kit fitted onto the vehicle (otherwise the reaer bumper will look slightly diff. than the rest of the car.

Exhaust: C55 exhaust can be fitted into a C32, however, as I mentioned on my prevous posting, you have to be prepared for the body changes as the spare tire well, new shields and all its related hardware needs to me be replaced.

Currently, I am the first person to have ordered the entire AMG exhaust to retrofit on a W203 chasis. All parts are in, work has begun and it is just a matter of time to get my car back.

I am waiting for one part to come in to have the work completed. The work was nicely done as all the parts are directly attached to the frame on the exisintg bushings, etc.
