From what I am told the re-pained area will not have nano paint. The nano process requires the car to be baked at a very high temperature adn this can only take place at the factory.

MB has a list of clear coats that will bond with the Nano clear coat but the paint will not have that same Nano protection. I had to have my E55 painted because some jerk keyed the entire side. I am not nano-less on that side and there is nothing I can do about it.

Dont worry you most likely will never notice the difference.

I would recommend having the vehicle repaired at your Mercedes Dealership. It will cost much more, but they will do a much better job. Hey, it's not your money right?

You were parked, and he backed into you. There should be no question of responsibility.

if he backed into you it should be his insurance that pays for it. the nano paint in that area is gone though from what i understand since they cant replicate the nano paint process after the factory.

Van driver assumed total responsibilty, hell I was sitting in his neighbor's driveway which happens to be one of San Jose's finest when we heard the crunch !!! The car is now at "Auto Tech" body in San Jose, they fully guaranteed me that I would be happy with the results, they do use a "bake" process on their paint, no "nano" though ...now we're driving some peice of crap Cavalier rental... probably be expensive repair, I will have the fender replaced with OEM piece and new Xenon light which was $1,200.00 by itself...

after my accident the front driver headlight had to be replaced. the total bill was nearly $6k. i do remember the headlight being $1200 though. i required new rim, headlight, fender, bumper, paint, windshield, mirror and touch up on door where mirror hit and dinged.

the bad thing about it, is no matter how well the body shop does the repair, you know the car has been involved in an accident. at least, that's me. the body shop did a fantastic job on my car, to the point that I can't tell the difference where they performed the repair and the original sheet metal but I still feel bad about it.

The resale value also drops when you are involved in an accident, regardless of how good of a job the repair shop does.

Nice sig with 64. Incorrect information But nice sig anyway...
Your car will not loose value due to the replacement of the fender and light with oem parts.... I hope they paint the fender off the car thus no over spray. And if there is no welding or major need to straighten out metal.. You are fine.....

I'm just glad it was the front fender and not the rear quarter panel section, the bolt on fender will simply be replaced with an OEM piece, they gaurantee the paint for the lifetime of me owning the car...I just miss driving it, I hate the pos Cavalier I got as a loaner....
