has anyone tried to disconnect the cd changer and hook the ipod up to that port??? is this an option??? does anyone make a converter for this? that would be great, there is no need for the changer if i can get my ipod hooked up to the car.

this needs to be for a 2007 C-230

Never mind...I located the post where the pics were included in an attached PDF file. Thanks to everyone and I'm looking forward to doing this mod.

C350 4Matic
I just bought a 2007 C350 4Matic, and asked the parts guy about this, and he also told me some astronomical number. im guessing he was looking up the ipod integration kit as well instead of the actual cable.

this was an extremley helpful guide! I did it very quickly, and the sound is great! The mp3's sound better out of my ipod then they do burnt to a CD... range is fine if you tweak the bass/treble a lil bit... Though the part number changed according to the dealership I went to... and they only charged me 28.50, I was psyched

Some cable/connector options

I completed this mod with ease and the sound is great. I purchased the cable below to take advantage of the IPOD dock connector as the sound quality using it is superior than when using the headphone jack. I also had an extension cable I used to use with headphones and have it plugged into the newly installed jack. I then ran the extension out the back of the glove box (there was a perfect sized hole I was able to fish it through over on the opposite side) up to the center console. I guess I could hide it under the carpet or some other way but I just put it in the cargo net holder right there when not in use. I plug the new cable (with dock connector) into my extension cable. I never have to get into the glove box. I take my IPOD with me when not in car.

oh shame man! that sucks, that they are kind of 'forcing' the 07 guys/gals to buyy the more expensive int. kit. i recently got a 07 loaner while they did my service a, i noticed that the 'multi function' armrest is gone! it now only opens up. not like mine that opens left/right/up. guess like someone said, to cut cost for the spoiler, amg tips.

Red face I-Pod , MP-3 digital connection for MB C280

I found the instructions for Monster's iCruz i-Pod kit installation on the web that led me to find the fiber optic connector in the trunk where a CD player , i-pod etc. can be connected . My 2000 C280 has buttons on the radio head unit for CD Player and Aux. connection . I decided to do the remote CD player that fits in the well on the right side of the trunk but any digital device can be tapped in here w/o disrupting the rest of the electronic systems . Be careful as those orange "wires " running everywhere back there are actually fiber optic strands and will die if bent or crimped like a wire . The ready to use L shaped universal connector is neatly tucked behind the vacuum module for the power locks in the trunk . The vacuum module is the box in foam rubber behind the trunk liner on the right side . Two orange fiber optic lines run into the L-connector -- one is labelled CDC for CD changer and the other says Alt +/- One is light out -- the other is light in and the iCruz or other brands connector is simply a light to electrical signal modulator to compatibilize the iPod or CD player digital signal to a pulsed light signal . Maybe someday Apple will get with it and gives us fiber optic ready devices because FM and 800 series wireless transmissions are inferior compared to wired . The downside of the trunk mount for iPod is you will have to have wireless control but same for glove box . Just another option for MB'ers to consider . I think the FM transmitters are OK but sound quality is so-so . The again I go all the way back to vinyl and reel to reel . Real sound .

you tried holding down the CDC button for 5 seconds? might wanna open up the front passenger door sill on the floor and see if the aux jack is actually plugged into the cable

ipod hardwire - what are my options

i have an '06 c230 sport sedan w the stock stereo and glove-box based CD changer. what are my options for connecting the iPod to the head unit? is it possible to have it hardwired? i would be willing to not use the CD changer if there is a connection in there that would work on the iPod.

thanks in advance!

a quarter mile at a time
you can get the AUX input wire or the factory iPod kit. You will be able to retain your CD-Changer with both options. The AUX in is just a mini-jack you plug into your iPod. The iPod integration kit plugs into the docking port on the bottom of your iPod and you'll be able to control the iPod using your steering wheel buttons and see your iPod display between your speedo.

I just called the MB dealer. The new part number for the aux-in cable harness is 210 440 50 05. It was $33. I'll confirm that this is the correct part when I receive it.

Hi, I have an '06 C350 and I can't seem to remove the a-pillar. I've tried to pull it rearward and different direction but it doesn't seem to move. It is held together by two yellow clips like someone had posted here. The door sill was easy to move though. Can someone give me some suggestions on how to do this? Maybe I'm not putting that much force into it? Thanks!

I can't remember how I did it but a little force was required

Just make sure you don't brake anything.

Thanks. I'm just pulling it rearward to to back of the car right? I could have sworn that I applied force on it and it wouldn't move. Also do you remember which part of the a-pillar did you hold to pull it off? Thanks again!
