This car pisses me off Camshaft solenoid again

So 2006 C230 has had the Balance shaft replaced along with the 4 camshaft solenoid's about 3 years ago. About 1.5 years ago I changed three of the camshaft solenoid's out again. Was getting the codes for 3 of them. Changed them out and all was good. Now about 8k miles later got some codes and some new ones P0011 (right intake came position), P2091(right cylinder bank is too lean at idle), 2095 (left cylinder bank to lean at idle), P0636 and P0301 (worsening of emissions after engine start). The front O2 sensors were stuck at around 2 vdc when they should be switching and the rear O2 sensors were at 0.02 vdc. This was with the engine fully warmed up and after a drive. Another oddity was that the all 4 camshaft position sensors were reading nothing. Had to reset scanner and shut car on and off a few times before they read normal. After I reset the codes the car refused to run and would die when it was started unless the engine was raced. Are these the right descriptions for the codes. And what's going on. Is it a MAF related issue? No codes for that. Also car would be running rough and after shutting off engine if the key was turned to start position the starter would not engage and key would have to be shut off and back on and then it would crank.

Try another engine ecu. ME 9.7 is known to fail. And use DAS not these other aftermarket **** scanners

It may need an ECU, but my immediate problem appears to be a vacuum leak. When I spray carb cleaner at the front or rear of the intake manifold the engine races. So it appears to be a big vacuum leak. When I spay at either location the engine immediately races so it would have to be a problem at both locations or a big crack in the manifold.

Re the cam position sensors and solenoids. Pull the ECU connector apart and inspect carefully signs of oil on the pins, both harness side and on the ECU itself. Oil causes intermittent loss of contact and can lead to error codes and strange running.

I need to find the vaccum leak first. Spraying carb cleaner at the front or rear of the manifold causes the engine to race. Are the any hoses common to both locations? Where do these manifolds crack?

The carb cleaner is going into the intake system. Slow down and methodically trace the air flow path.

You can't see a thing looking at the areas where it is being sprayed. I checked around the MAF and any of the hoses in that area. All looked OK. All I can say is that there is a leak. Either it's a line or the manifold has a big crack. In front there are all kinds of tubing for the tumble flaps. They look ok.

Those manifolds are made of absolute junk material. I have seen the flaps wear holes right through the manifold or the bushings for the links fall out. Not uncommon to see holes in them.

Looking for replacement manifold on Amazon. They have a cheap Chinese one for about $200 and then they have a Mercedes one for about $600. Anyone ever use the Chinese manifold as a replacement?

Can't see the Chinese being any worse than original! The original is made from chineseism anyway! Try buying the original part via a spares outlet and not at MB. They are made by pierburg

I'm surprised that no one has used the Chinese manifold. I am going to take it off before I decide what to do. This will let me look at what's happening.
