MY05's do NOT have valet trunk lock

What the hell is the point of having a "valet key" that only works for the glovebox? I don't get it. Why did MB get rid of this? Damn, this sucks.

This isn't my first Benz, and this is a no-brainer that anyone would expect. I read the manual, and didn't think MB would be dumb enough not to include this...
Edit: Point of the manual lock is obvious, it is to unlock the trunk in an emergency where either your smart key does not work properly or you have no power in the car!

plus MB's have had valet restrictions on the trunks for as long as i can remember. freaking nicedeboy needs to shut the F**K up and think before he speaks.

Speaking of which, on C320 Coupe, I was able to get a SmartKey with trunk release button (long "Citronic" salt-water story
). Anyway, it works great ! Additionally, I set the SmartKey to unlock Driver's side door first with one press of the button, and unlock Pass side and trunk with second press of the button. Too bad the coupe doesn't have the valet lock on the trunk though. Additionally, my daughter can get it in to the trunk from inside the car by taking down the split rear seats, and then popping the GREEN release button inside the trunk. She thinks that's the craziest adventure since Mr. Toad's Wild Ride !
good thing Mr. Toad is Green.
i still need to do my second smart key. i thought 'd give it a couple months though!

Gotta LOVE gullible SA's !

and gotta LOVE the perks of driving a COUPE !!

God, I have no clue what MB was thinking when they did this...
hope no valets jack my stuff
PRHeloPilot: can you check your 2005, and lock the trunk with the valet key, then try to open the trunk with your SmartKey to see if it opens.
Hopefully, this will settle this debate !
