2005 Front Bumper/Spoiler for 2004
Is it possible to purchase the 2005 front bumper/spoiler for a 2004.5 sport sedan. I found a good deal on a low mileage 2004.5 sport sedan but like the front end on the newer car. If this is possible what will it cost and where can I buy the part. Thanks

What I've heard on this forum, they're the same body so I suppose you could. Don't worry, soon you'll have more answers here than you need and some will actually be helpful.

yes it is possible, but you will not only need a bumper, but new fog lights, the wires mesh underneath for the sides and center, possibly new impact strips (not sure on that), then have it all painted. it can get quite costly realy fast.

Figure $2K with tax, pieces mentioned and painting just for the front. Installing it easy, instruction on my website. Of course it won't be complete without the 2005 headlight, another $450.

come to think about it, an 04 isnt as bad as the 04.5....I keep telling myself hey at least I had my car for 1 yr before the 05 came out. But the 04.5, man should have wait til the 05 come out. I feel sorry for them...well well well I thought of trading mine for the 05 but seems like I may lose a lot of money doing it. Screw it I will wait for the 07

Easily done, if you've got the $ as Buellwinkle says... i'll probably end up putting the 2005 Sedan AMG kit on the 2004.5 It's just bumpers, the under-lip AMG kit (w/ mesh) and new foglights. Rubbing strips are the same.
The cost is still WAY under for what I would have paid for a 2005. Considering, I managed to get a new 2004.5 C320 Sport Sedan well below ($7K) price of a 2005 C230K Sport Sedan.
Doing the same with the 2003 COUPE, except that the AMG kit for the COUPE was only available in Germany, and I can keep my regular Bi-X and foglights. Rubbing strips are the same also, but I'm putting in PTS, so those will go as well.
So what will it all cost, and where do you get it ? right now, you're limited on options, since they are AMG parts. The dealer and maybe a few TUNERS may get you various prices. As far as painting, and install, definitely go with a good body shop or MB Tuner shop, because the dealer will rape you on that. Check the normal culprits all over these forums: Evosport, AutoClass, Harton Motorwerks, Autowerks, CEC, etc...
