I just found this thread after Nichole let me know that she had bought a black 2005 Coupe back in September. Nice car! Several comments:

(i) The 2005 Coupe is still a definite rarity on the East Coast as well. I see 2005 SS's all the time, but have seen only one '05 Coupe in the wild (i.e., not at the dealer) since they were first released. It was a white one; the three cars I have seen at the dealers were all silver with manual seats and auto trannies.

(ii) Like Nichole, I really wanted a manual transmission and power & memory driver's seat. I was unable to find a comfortable position in the Coupe with manual seats. I therefore ended up ordering and having to wait more than three months for the car to arrive. In the end, it was worth it: with the power seats, I have found two driving positions that I like without hitting the sunroof.

(iii) Even though I am just over 6'1", the Coupe remains a pretty tight fit for me heightwise -- but it's not any worse than the Mazda RX-8 that I was also considering (I don't really fit in 8's with sunroofs).

I agree, the leg room is indeed wonderfully abundant (at least as long as one doesn't need to squeeze a large adult behind the driver's seat).

The problem for me has been the headroom. I do fit in the Coupe, but with little room to spare. By comparison, I have loads of space above my head in our other car, a 2002 Passat sedan (I know, I know, I am now comparing apples and oranges).

i dont know i have plenty of headroom. i just keep the seat low, i have power seats so its easy im not sure how you do that with manual seats. i dont dare let a tall adult sit behind when i drive. either they get automatic shotgun or they can take their own car!
