2 months and $2000 damage

hey guys, my car just got into another accident today. this is the second in a month and a half. the first time it was my brother who got rear ended. this time it is my friend who backup into a wall. the bad news is insurance isnt going to cover it since i wasnt driving both of the times. the estimate was about $2000. i am thinking about getting a new body kit. the current one i have on is the AMG kit. i want to get something different since i see so many 05's out now. what are the suggestions? something not too expensive. i am thinking about the brabus replica but i dont know the quality or maybe the expression motorsport but the it looks alittle wierd since theres so much space between the bumper and the headlights. or is it just me? if anyone can share there experience with the brabus replica from erebuni it would be great.
keep in mind im just 16 and i dont have alot of money. lol

Why would you put "keep in mind you are only 16 and don't have much money? Then ask about body kits, not to mention that you have a 2005 car that your friend just bashed....... Since your friend or his folks are going to pay for it, why is money a factor? The Erebuni kit can be purchased cheaper here in California......

That's gotta be telling you something. Save your money for something bigger, rather then spending it on this car.

i would love to see that expressions kit. i can say though i do have the other eurbini kit the one where there was a pic of it with exhaust holes on each side and i have to say that it is not too easy to put on. my body guy had to modify them like crazy. either way the fiberglass was workable i hear, but be careful with eurbini cause it is just a "prototype" as in it is not a bolt on application or comes with any holes where the oem bolts goes. it is pretty much a whole custom job. in the end i was verry happy how mine turned out. but yeah that expression one wins my vote hehe hope that helps. and sorry to hear about ur misfortunes man

the reason why i said "keep in mind im 16" is because i asked my friend to back out my car from the garage and he crashed it. i dont want to hold him responsible because of my stupidity. either way i dont want to spend $3k on a bodykit whereas i can get an exhaust, tints, and a replica bodykit.

Hmm, I guess this would be a good time to learn more about what defines a "body-style" as in W202 vs. W203 vs. W204.

Frank, you have an '01 C32. So you're saying the '04 W203 trunk lid is different from the '01 trunk lid?

Within a body style like W203, which elements change from year to year (I mean, I realize obvious things like lower body work, interior, head and tail light design, side mirror housings, etc.), and which elements stay the same? If the trunk shape changed between '01 and '04, has the W203 hood changed shaped at all?

Also, Frank, when you reapplied your badging, did you use a template from the dealer to line things up? Are your fender badges level to the ground, or parallel with your side impact/rub strips?

I have a 02 c32. 01-03 had a different trunk stop than the 04 and that's about it. All w203 has the same hood except the C55.

i just cut a paper that are the same distance that i measured and the guys at the dealership used the masking tape on the car for marking.

Thats cool........... I learned auto body repair in 80's at my uncles shop during my college summer break. I also learned about the appraisal process which helps me now when buying and selling cars....... I tell people all the time after an accident, go to the most expensive place for an estimate, then the dealer. Have a third place that will work with you and does good work waiting. The check for repairs can come to you from the insurance company. It will be in the amount of the dealer estimate. You then go to your guy and get your car fixed how and with whatever you want...... Stock MB halogens are listed at over $2000 for the pair.... Thats a set of Bi-Xenons.... People need to learn to work the system to their advantage or accept getting bent over

What exactly is a "trunk stop"?

I see. I can't really tell from your sig picture. Is your fender badge lined up parallel to your side strips so that they are kind of pointing down towards the front? Or are they level to the ground?

the insurance paid for it...i took the car to HOI's bodyshop. no complain there. I don't want to have like second grade bodyshop to do the work cuz it was only a minor accident. The only other shop I would take to is Seidner.

open your trunk, it's the two rubber thing on two underside of the lid.

the badge's parallel to the side strip.

Oh, so it's an internal thing. The trunk still looks the same from the exterior...

Thanks! Originally I was going to apply my badges level to the ground. But the more I thought about it, it makes more sense to line it up with the side strip.

You missed the point No second grade bodyshop would be considered Or maybe you didnt........ Last try.......
Your stock radio gets stolen... Insurance Co says its value is $1000... You would go to the dealer and have it replaced. I would go and get something better for the same price.....

Drew, I didn't miss your point. This was the rear we're talking about. I didn't want other kit other than AMG. And about the trunk, there's only one type of trunk lid.

If this was the front, I would've done so like you said and ripped them the bixenon, but I'd still get the AMG kit.

My brother did this and got him a new 2001 E39 5-series front look on his 97 E39.

Cool
A lady in a Honda hit my wife in her 02 C240.. left 2 holes from her lic plate screws on the back bumper. Her insurance sent us a check for $1300 after the adjuster came out.... Total cost to fix at the shop we go to in Marina Del Rey was $570 with OEM parts....

i too was in an accident and insurance did cover some of the parts and the labor but all in all i payed about 2.5k out of pocket.

the eurbini kit was about 1k and then the muffler was another 1k.
the kit included skirts, front, rear and then the upper wing in the rear that goes on top of the shield. the rest was labor.

Wow, 2 accidents so close. Instead of a new body kit, have you considered a Hummer ?

I agree Plus, I will wager that your rates are going to go up even though they are not fixing your car. Under 21 not responsible.... Correction, your parents rates will go up.....
