Auto-Leveler sucks. My friend has Audi and BMW with Xenon/auto-leveler, they all projected too low and can't adjust them. I prefer my OEM manuel adjustable leveler. :P

lol i have not heard much of auto-levelers. never had them my self. when i saw the sensors i was just thinking that could be the reason they dont want to install them at the dealer. that or they cant install the washers? i dont care about the washers or auto-levelers.

With factory BiX you get the auto levelers in the US. I have them on mine. Everytime the car starts they auto level. There is a sensor in front and back for this. The back one is for when you put weight in the trunk or back seat. Front is for Dive and of course weight as well....

The lights also have the standard levelers as well. Also if you disconnect the sensors on the sway they just do not auto level but still work perfectly fine. If you are going to install them have the dealer set the Xenon=Present before you install them. You stock headlights will still work!

Free alignment

7) You probably need an alignment. Mine was pulling to the right a little and got aligned yesterday, now it's fine. Make sure they don't try to charge you, it's free before 12k miles.

Is the first alignment free even if I've changed to different tires? I have an '05 SS that is now running on Bridgestone S03s. My car is pulling to the right - should the dealer still do the alignment for free (car has 2700 miles)?

Are you sure it is alignment? Remember low profile wide tires tend to follow the road and are more susceptable to the crown of the road. Therefore on the right lane you pull right due to the road crowning that way. Left lane tends to pull a hair to the left. Sometimes of course the alignment is off a hair from the factory do to shipping overseas and the vehicle being tied down. I had mine aligned for free, just to have it done actually and it reacted the same way when done. I am just used to the fact that the wide tires follow every grove and dip in the highway. But yes in the USA the alignment is covered for free within the first 12 months or 12,000 miles.

should be free no matter what wheels/tires UNLESS you were in an accident or you hit something, then they will try to charge you.

It's pretty much the same thing except you select the G-wagen instead of W203 (it's under the G/M/R class listing of cars).

Various versions of Star Diagnosis will have different paths to get to certain menus; if the version of software in use requires a different path, then it will require a little bit of thinking on the part of the technician who is using the Star Diagnosis.

Bi-xenon, thanks Steve, thanks MB of Littleton Colorado

Got my bix installed for FREE at MB of Littleton CO. Yup you heard it right.. for FREE. Plug and play, no problems at all.
For all of you in Colorado with questions about xenons, talk to Juan, he's the Xenon-Master. I just walked in, happened to be greeted by him, talked about my intention and he installed the headlights right away.
It took about 2.5 hours to finish the job (with me helping him a little), and everything was peachy.

Thanks again Steve and Wanda for the flawless headlights !
FYI, you don't have to remove the bumper to swap the headlights.

cheers.

...which is probably why it took 2.5 hours...when one takes the front bumper off - it shouldn't take much longer then 1 hour (incl. version coding).
Knowing how easy the tabs can brake off (as they are designed to break off easily), I would not advise anybody to swap headlights without taking the front bumper off.

Anyways - good to see that it all worked out for you - and regardless how long the install took - that price cannot be beaten!

greetingz,

my car came wit xenons and i havent complained about this yet, but i have always noticed that they do not project very far out at all. my wife drives the car mostly and this really bugs her. she does have a point, because when i look around at other cars , ours are really low

is this an adjustment that i can do simply, or do i have to take i t to dealer??? thanks so much

i had this same problem. i took it to the dealer and they re-calibrated them and they were perfect, until the autoleveler on the passenger side went out and the unit had to be replaced. they were then a little low, and i took it back from them to raise them up. have the dealer do it. i dont think you should do it yourself since the autoleveling may be affected.

A Very Simple way to adjust the Headlights is to find a LEVEL surface about 4 feet from a wall and Measure the center to center on the headlights..also measure the Height..from the ground to the center of the headlight..transfer the info to the wall and adjust the headlights..we used that for setting headlights at the dealer..works greats!

Actually that distance is way too short. You should be 25 ft away and on a level surface with a settled suspension. Take you mearsurements as suggested above. But when you do your adjustmenty make sure that the low beam reflection on the wall is 3 in lower, measured at the center, than the same measurement on the car. Otherwise your high beams will shoot up into the air and oncoming traffic will flash you continuously regardless of high or low beams.

If you want more detailed instructions search the forum, has been posted, or google for them.

i still suggest take it to the dealer. should be covered under warranty and as long as your techs are good you shouldnt have a problem. a good tech and SA make all the difference in the world.

Bi-Xenon Lighting Package-Should I get it??

Hope you guys can help me out since the 2 dealers i went to could not answer my questions about the lighting package. Basically they said "don't get it" because it's more a fashion statement and has no real purpose.

1. Besides being whiter, are these light actually brighter than the traditional bulbs?

2. Do the bulbs last longer than regular yellow bulbs?

3. How much does it cost to replace a bulb if it blows?

Still deciding whether i should order it. If there is anything else i should consider, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

p.s On a side note, should i order teleaid?

I'd take that further.
I wouldn't buy another car period if it didn't have Xenons. All our cars have them now and it's a world of a difference from going from a regular car, to Xenons.

I'd brush off on Teleaid, we don't have it nor BMW Assist in our cars. I just think it's a waste of money. But that's my opinion, I'm sure others would swear by it. You should get one year free BUT MAKE SURE YOU CANCEL WHEN YOU DONT WANT IT otherwise they'll start charging you after that one year.

I 2nd this...for whatever reason they're trying to convince you not to get it.

It's not just going from Halogen to Xenon, but to BI-XENON!!!! So worth it. I wouldn't take a car without Xenon lights, bare minimum.
