Emergency call from a newbie, all hands on deck please 🚨
It all started with one day, it misfired on cylinder 1. Went to te garage and immediately changed the spark plugs and coils. The problem went away for a week, it drove perfect. Then all of a sudden it came back. I suspected it was the spark plug, so changed the 1st one with the 3rd one to see if it would go away. But it stayed. Same cylinder #1.
the car sometimes starts rough but becomes normal when I rev it. But the problem starts on the 3rd gear, when I want to accelerate, it rattles, hesitates and starts shaking when stopped like it works on 3cyl.

check and clean all ground points
After all of the above are done, if the problem still exists start diagnosing injectors.




They used M111 engine all the way till 2004, and lots more experience and information.
Most 4 cylinder cars here are newer M271. Only 2002 C230 used M111 in USA for W203.
