Just bought my son a 2007 Mercedes c280

I recently bought my son a 2007 Mercedes c280 4 matic with 109k miles. The car is super clean and just needs a few cosmetic things but one thing it does need is for me to figure out why on the cluster it says left turn signal light out. When I turn on the directional to the mirror doesn’t blink but when I lock the car with the remote the directional signal blinks.. anyone have an idea what is going on? The car does not have the folding sign mirror option. So I am confused and I’ve enough Mercedes in my life.

I assume you've confirmed that the bulbs also work? Also as part of the exercise, I would also switch both front bulbs (as in swap between L and R) and rear bulbs, just to take a bad bulb out of the equation.
These cars can be very finicky from an electrical standpoint, so the next thing I would check is the battery and voltage.

mirror light wouldn’t blink which it is. I will check the bulbs and let you know. Thank you for giving me some ideas.
Then, I’d check the function of the turn signals with the stalk, then the hazard switch in upper control panel then the lock/unlock functions.
If still acting as you described, I’d look into SAM issues - and research further.
Changing the mirror turn signals is very easy as well…and a affordable part throw option before a SAM…

Hello,
Alittle background on the c-class. I knew it had prior accidents from what I can tell from the carfax report. It currently has 109k miles and the interior is mint. Like I am shocked how clean it is for a 2007. As my son is going to college pretty local and is not thinking of staying at school. Needless to say I have been a Mercedes cars owner for over 20 years so I tend to stick to Mercedes. When I first bought the c-class I knew it would need some mechanical stuff as no car that’s usually nearly 17 years old doesn’t. Off the bat it needs tires, rotors/pads all the way around, transmission flush, and the wheels need to be refinished as they have seen better days. The exterior of the car is also very clean and no visible damage. Of course I had to replace the hood release latch cause it was broken but it was an easy fix. Lastly the air conditioner blows hot air. I ordered a new compressor kit with condenser, compressor, and O-rings. I paid 3k for the car so if I put another $1,500 into it with parts and labor then I am happy. So far in parts I spent about $700 my friend who is a wholesaler has a mechanic shop on site. The mechanic quoted me $400 in labor to do brakes, install ac compressor and refill refrigerant, and transmission service. As far as cosmetic things I already did to the car was installed white led interior bulbs canbus error free also installed the bulbs in the license plate lights.Installed hid low beam kit. Ordered new floor mats. The last two things I changed was the hood emblem to the flat hood emblem and lastly ordered android carplay radio with rear view camera.

Disassembling the dashboard to install the unit is fairly time consuming. It would be irritating to have to do the work twice because of a defective unit.
Your car looks good. I'm glad to see someone else willing to invest in the W203.
