From an e-mail received this week:
"1.- The exhaust will be here in 3 weeks
2.- It's a muffler alone. with the tips
3.- You will need to trim the rear skirt
4.- shipping is about 50 dollars
REGARDS.

Sounds to me like a cut & weld job is in order, not to mention cutting the rear skirt to clear the tips.

Official AMG C32 Exhaust on Regular w203 Thread
Just got my AMG muffler installed today. Guess what?? It is so DAMN quiet!!! I believe it is quieter than the stock one because I even asked the people at the shop to remove the silencer (or resonator if that's how you call it). And they still sound the SAME!! (stock muffler with silencer vs. AMG muffler without silencer)... People, please tell me what is going on here!! Isn't at least by removing the silencer would increase the loudness of the muffler?? oh man.. I just spent around $750 (include installation) for nothing.... =(
I remember some C32 owners on this fourm told me that their AMG muffler sound deep and loud. But I think that's only on C32s.. Any C240 or C320 owners here insatalled AMG muffler? Did you guys experence the same problem?? and, also, can anyone tell me how to increase the loudness of the muffler? Thanks

Well, the AMG muffler on the C32 must sound different than in your car because of the s/c. You should've just gotten a flowmaster with nice tips.
There's an idea, get a flomaster and transfer the tips from the AMG

I could of told you that the AMG is quieter than stock, Linh has one on his SLK230, whisper quiet, isn't that what you wanted for your luxury car? It does get a little louder when he put a pulley kit in and rev'ed it up to 5-6k.

True about the good exhaust systems (that are still smog legal in all 50 states) give you better performance while keeping the noise minimal. I had the same issue on my exhaust I bought for my A4 (supposed to be the best Milltek/APR exhaust) and after installation the sound was so minimal the shop guys weren't very impressed w/ it. I drove around and felt it pulled better on the higher end (4/5th gear). Also, you just had it installed give it about 2 weeks and its supposed to get louder as well over time. However, you only bought a muffler so I'm not sure of the overall effect.

I think its obvious that the muffler sound of a C240 vs. a C32 is different even with the same AMG muffler. There is a big difference to the output of the 2 cars. AMG mufflers are never known for their loudness.

If you heard the SL55, you might change your mind about that. It has a nice, loud exhaust sound.

And you can make a quiet exhaust even with that much power. The new twin turbo 600 engine is very quiet. You can hardly hear the engine or the exhaust considering the amount of power it is putting out. Kinda sucks in my opinion.

If you want loud, get the racing version of the Eisenmann muffler.

Why would you get better performance from the AMG muffler? Perhaps I should ask what is better about the AMG muffler? After all, if it is "free-flowing" and yet so quiet, why wouldn't they use it on all the C class vehicles from the factory? If it was loud, then I could see why they wouldn't use it on the lower-end, common models.
