I have an 04’ c230 kompressor coupe. The car is throwing the errors shown in photo. I replaced the starter the battery was disconnected for two days. When the car was back in working order the turn signals, gas gauge and other various things were not working. Continued driving vehicle then it started having issues getting out of park, starting in neutral. Please help before I get over charged. First things to diagnose, any help would be appreciated!

Did you reconnect the battery negative first then positive?

I’m not sure. At first I thought I had a rear Sam unit problem. Now I think it’s ecm, or pcm!

#1 Test the battery. Any auto parts store can do this.
Funny how things can fail at the same time and send you
on a wild goose chase looking for something related to the repair you did.
May not be related at all. Everything you describe sounds like a failing battery.
You want to see CCA at least 1/2 of normal or so.
Anything below that, wierd sheet starts happening.
Battery turns into a giant resistor, and can also cause the alternator to fail.

New battery fix it? If you haven’t already done it, slow charge battery overnight removed from car. Take it to closest parts house. Have it load checked so you know if you’ve got a bad cell.

A battery with 12v and, as previously stated, low CCA, will drive the electrics crazy as well as confuse the 5v canbus system to throw false codes. The load test is your starting point. Diagnostic, next.

C230 errors thrown
It was showing signs of bad Sam. However the serial or can bus, and now powertrain errors. I don’t know where to begin.

Before disconnecting the battery you should wait 5 minutes with doors and trunk shut (if you have an alarm system also press the hood latch down manually). In this time the rear SAM goes to stand-by and is not sensitive to voltage cut-off.
Is the timing chain ok? Not sure if the errors can be related to an longed chain. (?) I'm not an expert for the M271.
Have you checked the wires to the coils and sensor?
