For the front speakers I believe that they're about 6.5" and for the back about 6".

They are the same size all around. For the fronts you need to remove the whole assembly or just unclip it from the bottom and just access it with your hand. They are 6.5 by the way.

Thanks! How do you preform these procedures? How do you pull off the upper tweeter covers? Do you know if there is a crossover between the woofer and tweeter like in after market component systems? Are the rears only a woofer or do they have tweeters mounted on them? What size is the rear deck subwoofer? Is it powered from the headunit's amps too?

thanks!

Craig from London, Ontario, Canada - please search for "remove front door" - it's been well documented here with pics. It's fairly simple: remove interior door pull, remove torx that is there; remove SRS badge, remove torx that is there, remove third torx from rear portion of door pull, then remove door panel without breaking the clips, and it's done.

Buy spare clips.

Does your 240 have the subwoofer in the back parcel shelf?

we took off the entire door panel when we replaced the component system in my sister's 02' c240. it was farely simple. just 4 bolts i believe and then door panel goes up and out.

yeah bro just replace em how you would on any other car. if your using a 6.5 u might have to make a mounting for it. its pretty simple.

So the 6.5" would go with smods mods...will the 6" go in with no mods? Also are they 2 or 3 ways? Or does it even matter? Thanks!

i think its subs or some**** bro. but depends if ur car came with it or not. if not its just sound deadening stuff in the mount.
if ur gonna go with polk audio just go to ur local fruit market and mount some oranges in ur door. will sounds the same.

That's nasty - The Polks are fine. But if you don't like Matthew Polks creations - Infinity had a direct fit as well.

installed

Didnt want to start yet another thread on this so i figure i continue this one. Just replaced all the speakers except for the center front, and rear sub ( yet to get to it to look at the size but i think its an 8" bass)
Anyways, the clarity and power of these 4 + tweets is amazing...should have dont this years back.
Anyways here are the shots of the new ones, i end up using all stock housing , the install was a breeze, except that when i was done with pass front i forgot to isntall the corner speaker and grill which were dangling between the door. SO stupid me shot the door crushing the speaker mesh...so now i got to find one. Anyone knows the $ for the plastic corner mesh?
Thanks!

Pic 1- Rear Clarion 2way 6.5", i had to modify stock mesh by removing the stock center tweeter and opening up the plastic mesh that held it.
Pic 2- Front Kenwood 2 way 6.5", the tweeter from which replaced the corner tweeter.
Pic 3- stock fronts Bose that got replaced
