For those in north-east coast How are your reardrive cclases in snow?
By good tires though you need winter only to get around anywhere..I have tried a few all-season's on mine and any thing more then some light snow, I play the skid, ESP game for a good part of my drive....
I was very impressed though by even an older (I think '96) E 4-matic I was given as a loaner a while ago by the dealer. All it had were all-seasons but the traction and secure feeling of knowing that the car would go in the direction I was pointing it in while driving in moderate to heavy snowfall..made me a believer in them...

The car does 'OK' in the snow here and deep in the mountains with ESP and careful driving. But with anything remotely harsh (heavy snow or ice) the car definately doesn't do to well with the stock tires, simply cause they are 'sport tires (duh).
Get winter tires and you are set.

Often, its getting moving that's difficult with bad tires in 2wd, but the pilots have so little grip, that stopping can be just as much of a nightmare.
BTW, most of the HUMMERS and EXCREMENTCALADES suck in the snow- b'cause the dip**** owners are running twenty two's and summer performance tires!!! Stupid aholes!
I love my car in the snow...except when it gets slushy salty out, then I use my Jeep!
