Never deal with the floor salesman. They are out there in suit and ties to get you. Only deal with the Fleet Manager, they are there to move cars out of the lot. This car was destined to Fletcher Jones last week, and I had the Fleet Manager intercept it and do a dealer trade before the car hit the port. Fletcher jones is actually 2 blocks from where I work. Feel free to work with John Gritter (Fleet Manager) from Caliber Motors. I negotiated over the phone, went in this Sat and I was out in less than 2 hours.

Im getting mine from fletcher, see with me, i went to the sales person my pops bought 2 S500s from within 3 yrs, (Dolf Ballin) who actually now is in charge of Maybach sales. ( i think thats what also caused the delay with my car because he wasnt too quick with the options ) anyways, i dont think i can go now to a fleet manager but i will have to work with him. NO one seems to ever buy 320s so im sure they will want to get rid of this car, esp now that the 350 is coming.
so when they call me in 2 weeks saying my car is in, should i just say then, that hey look ive got a check for so and so number, and just head down there or go there and tell them that. i do want to make sure i get the extended warrenty and make sure it had floor mats tossed in .

vdubpower,
Feel free to print this thread and show it to your guy at Fletcher. At the end of the day, it's your money they are after. Good Luck! Let me know how it goes.

Yeah, I like the blue tint. I'm hesitant to get the windows tinted. However, the car will probably be very hot during summer.

I think Calabasas pulled that car up for me last week - but the one option that Ms. Rizzo can't live without is heated (black) seats.....so we had to order. Apparently the only 230 with heated seats and Navi is in Hawaii.... ........and it's RED.
I'd say from my last three weeks of research that your car is rare. Most dealers only have low option 230's on the lot.
VeeDub: got to www.carsdirect.com and price out and print your car to use as a starting point to negotiate....it will probably be more than $2k below invoice. Then you can start with the "why should I buy if from you when I can get it for this already" spin.
I'm tellin ya....I used to sell cars and I can negotiate a better deal than almost anyone....by why bother anymore? CD.com avoids the hassle and does not kill your weekend.....my .02¢

I look at Carsdirect price as the middleman price. Knock off a few hundred dollars and start working with the dealer from there. My best deal was buying my bro's 04 RSX, i was able to go down 1K under carsdirect offering price.
Hope this helps

right...if you show up with the print out from CD, it's hard for them to deny the price printed on the paper. It's simple - tell them to match (or beat) the CD price or you'll just order the car from CD.
Most dealers start at MSRP (sticker) and bargain from there. CD is already $4k below MSRP - if you can get it at that price you got a hella good deal. Heck - Most people think getting within $500 of invoice is a good deal and the CD price is already $2500 below that!
(and if you use CD you dont have to waste 2 1/2 hours like gaogi said with those meatheads - everything is done via email or over the phone.)

agreed, ive got the cardirect page printed out........but the thing is, THIS car was ordered specifically for us. and we have waited over 3 months for it, so we will be driving home in it. I cant just goto another dealer because of the uniquness of this car.
also the fact i will be paying cash should help?

vdub: the fact that you ordered the car gives you even more leverage. I ordered my car as well from Fletcher Jones, and because the options were unique and the sticker was so high, the car will sit on the lot for a month while people fight for the lower sticker priced cars. They would rather sell it right away than have the car sit on the lot for a month. It's a urban legend that you can't negotiate if you special order.
Your deposit is refundable, and you can always go to another dealership and ask them to make a trade with Fletcher Jones for your car. They hate to give back money that is already in their pockets, so I asked for my deposit back twice during negotiation, and each time I asked for it, the price went down a little bit more

Totally agree my car: 05 c230k ss blkopal/ash cd/cdchanger/visor/electric tilt and memory seats/ lighting package. Msrp was about $35,000
I originally had a deal with another mb for same car without lighting package and memory seats options. Went to another dealer with new lease in hand and said can you beat this? They said yes got -$500 dollars down, plus lights plus memory seats for $357 a month. He also gave me chrome plate holders and keychains free. Will also give me 200 dollar detailing free next service not just wash. I signed again. Now I had two leases and waited to Monday to call the other dealer and say I had to cancel order for financial reasons and needed my $500 deposit back. No problemo they said and that was it. This deal although not as great as the guy who just bought his car, I thought was excellent and I made the switch and goy my money back. Although that guy above said he had a Cysco employee discount $1300...... with that who knows what else I could have swindled into the car.
Hmmm damn maybe I could have gotten a c320 for this price too........ You never know.....
