Had mine for a month now, and it runs like a dream, has no rattles or weird noises, and I can blast Pink Floyd so loud on the Stereo that my teeth rattle, but nothing in this car does!!

Make a list, and take your car back to the dealer at any time, and all that will be replaced/repaired for free, man..

What happened to "babying" a new Mercedes for the first thousand or 2 thousand miles?? I can say from experience of owning 30+ new cars in my life, that if you baby them in the first 90 days, you have a MUCH better chance of having a winner, instead of a Lemon..
Just my 2 cents...
dude.... it is FAR from a lemon... it runs flawlessly... i also still baby it after 2500 miles... keep in in C most the time and barely ever go over 4000 RPM for your information....

the things i noted are mostly cosmetic... or very minor, but i list them here so others can compare and contrast and so i can get more info on others experiences...

my MM system sounds amazing and I am very impressed... just the rare occasion when there is a song with heavy bass and the vocals cut out, you can here a slight rattle in the passenger doors... this is normal with any speaker system and it is impossible to have no vibration/rattle when a heavy bass note hits, that is just the physics of sound... i have the bass on +3, and it sounds clean as can be except for certain songs with the issue above... which is RARE... but u can bet ill be telling the dealer to see what he can do when i bring it in this friday for my first check up before 3000 miles

I know rb23lb only paid $500 over invoice or something for his car. That was great deal. However, maybe he should have paid little more?? cuz.. you know.. "what you pay is what you get" Just kidding!!

Anyway, mine is solid like rock so far

How loud are you playing your music and what kind of music does this most often happen with?

Yes, I have the H/K system and listen to certain music loud at times. I also increased the bass on the system as soon as I picked it up.

No problems. Of course, by loud I don't mean I'm trying to shake the windows of the car next to me, but you can feel the bass.

ok, took it in at 1300 miles because of:

frequent "tire pressure alert" warnings..they replaced the sensors and it seems to be ok
headlight washer problem; washers drench the entire fron of the car intermittenly; doesnt happen every time, but happens sometime.
Dealer waiting for factory response, but they "think" they are meant to have super high pressure, for Autobahn use..of course I reminded them this is a USA model, so that answer doesnt cut it here, but they dont know what to do, aside from disconnecting the hose so they never work..
Not acceptable to me, so waiting to see what they come up with..
Oh, and for the second time, they ordered the wrong trunk cargo net, so lets see if the third time is the charm!

There is no button to operate the headlamp washers on the W204 correct? They work I think every x number of times you clean the windshield? Or do they clean everytime you clean the windshield if the lights are on?

I had an '03 Passat and switched to the cheapest (can't remember the names) AXXIS/ PBR pads. They hardly left any dust at all. They are amazing.

Do you get up to a certain speed, keep the speed constant and then reset the tire pressure?

Why not just back up rather than park with your airdam/front spoiler facing the blocks. The clearance on the backend should be sufficient to clear the blocks. It also makes for a speedy getaway

about 7 months with 11xxx miles...few problems...

knock on cold start
driver side mirror noise
smell when the ac turns on
ipod volume not as loud as disc or radio
trans lag
audio fadeout

mostly common problems...we'll see what the service dept says about these and if there are any updates they can find for trans and comand... should be in for A service pretty soon.

My little problems in 8 months (15000 km) were:

-Trans lag, they updated the software and it was ok

-The 2 license plate lights were lose, they fixed it for me but the mother***** didnt know how to, so he had made 2 deep scratches in my trunk with a screw driver. But that will be fixed soon.

- Paint came off from one door handle, they replaced the door handle

- Trunk wasnt alligned in the middle, also fixed

I must have gotten lucky as I don't have any of those problems except for an occassional odor from the AC. Dealer couldn't finding anything. I found it a year later when I was looking around the engine compartment anticipating doing my own oil change. There is a black housing on the left side of the engine compartment that attaches to the firewall. The bottom edge that's not visible should sit inside the firewall to make a good seal. It was sitting on the outside of the firewall. It was easy enough to fix once I realized that it wasn't installed correctly. Not only does the AC control the temp better now, but the car is also a tad quieter and without that occassional odor.

1) power steering failed after autocross. hose ruptured/melted? It was a really hot day, and pretty spirited driving too.
2) one of the engine mounts is faulty, engine vibrates like crazy occasionally at red lights.

thats about it for now so far.

2006 c230
I just got the car about 1 week ago. (2006, c230) After 2 days, I noticed the steering would bind if the wheel was extended. I returned it to the dealership where I got it. They said a collar had come loose and had to tighten it. About 1/2 of labor.
Everything else has been good, we've put about 1,000 miles on it since purchase and it has about 24,000 total.
