Hello, all. First post. Thanks for all the great info so far. I recently crossed 1,000 miles on my new white C350 (P2, 6-disc changer, Tele Aid) and I have a few questions that searching the board did not answer. Hopefully someone here can help.

1. Tunnel mode - the brochure claims this is a standard feature, but I cannot seem to find a way to get this to work (closing all the windows, sunroof, and recirculating the air). Pushing the recirculation button does nothing with the windows or sunroof.

2. I have a white c350, and the satellite (shark fin) antenna is black. I know that on most cars, especially $40K+ ones, the antenna matches the color of the car. Any owners out there with a color-matched antenna?

The satellite antenna on my C300 matches. Iridium silver.

You should check out the other cars on your dealer's lot for comparison (if not satisfied with the answers from this board). In any event, you should definitely report the issue (if you feel it is one) to your dealer as soon as possible. In some cases, the cars will get minor damage during transport, which the dealer will attempt to fix prior to delivery (or, it could be attributed to a simple assembly error). I had this happen on an Audi once with a trim piece around my windows - all are anthracite with the exception of one, which is chrome (end result, I got screwed).

You may also be able to get some indication from the brochure, people's pics on this board, or even youtube vids to identify what is 'normal'.

Got curious and searched on the pics board. It appears that the black sharkfin antenna is the norm. There's at least one other white W204 (non-pano) on the first page of posts with a black fin. There appear to be a couple silver cars with black fins as well.

Hi,

On my 07' c230, the tunnel mode only works when the fan or "auto" mode is tuned on. Hold the recirculation button for 2-3 seconds and the windows and s'roof will close all the way. When you leave the tunnel, hold the button again and they will return to the exact position they were at b4 they closed.

Esentially when you see the tunnel coming up, turn on the air and then hold the recirculation button down to close up the windows and avoid any cheezy smells from coming in the car. Works good in farm country too to avoid the lovely cow odours.

I'd think it would be the same on the 08'.

Any luck? My 08 C350 does not seem to work either (Tunnel Mode)

Both my 02 c230 and 05 c230ss both have it and it works.

MB site reads as follows for the 08 C-Class
Tunnel mode offers one-touch closing of all windows, the sunroof, and cabin air intake via the air-recirculation button.

Ive gotten tunnel mode to work on our new C's...im sure you've tried this, but crack the windows and sunroof, then press and hold down the recirc button...this should close the windows and roof...then press and hold the recirc button again and they should reopen to their previous positions.

I hold down recirc button but open window and sunroof are still open. I wonder if the initial poster found how to operate tunnel mode. Is there anybody to give the detailed explanation on it?

Called MB Corp today and after long wait was told that the website has bad info and that the sunroof and windows feature does NOT work in the 08 model.
Why they would remove this feature, no idea. I use it as a quick way to put up windows and close sunroof when parking. Going to see if i can get local dealer to try and activate anyway.

I called my dealer and talked about this issue. When I spotted the information on the website, he said he would give me a call back after checking other cars.

Anyway, I've had a clear answer to this issue but am disappointed slightly.

HOWEVER, THEY SHOULD INSTALL IT, I THINK. I feel like I paid more than I get even if it would be very little money.

Took car to dealer today and they confirmed . . NO TUNNEL MODE for the 2008 C-Class. Bad info on website.
