Why does the light on the bottom of my rearview blink??

Why does the light on the bottom of my rearview blink??
Anyone know why the light at the bottom of my rearview mirror blinks from time to time? My manual is in storage and I cannot get to it.

Those three buttons are the programmable garage door openers. They never blink unless you depress them.
Maybe you should read your manual?

I'm not talking about the homelink led. There is a light in the center bottom of the mirror that flashes like a strobe.
And as mentioned in my original post, my manual is stored away in my POD so I cannot get to it.

Have no idea what a POD is.
The only lights in the bottom of my 2008 C300's mirror are the switch controlled reading lamps. One for each side.

On MBs with auto dimming rearview mirror, they've had an LED for ambient lighting.
