Whether you are in US or aboard, if you have the C300 or C350, please post your experiences with using E85 and the mpg you are getting.

Thanks!

been using E 85 here outside chicago for a month or so; car runs great on it, but the mileage is poor; about 20 mpg, so, just like they said you lose about 20 % of your mileage with it..lots of power, and I save about 30% in cost (premium is 3.50 per gal here, and E85 is 2.60).
MB does NOT recommend using it at temps under 14F, and since its about that cold here in chicago now, I am gonna switch back to regular gas until spring time now...

You can only use e85 in the C300 with rear wheel drive and auto transmissions.

By "regular", I meant actual gas, and NOT E 85...Of course I will run premium, or, at the very least, 1/2 premium, and 1/2 Mid grade...Thanks for the correction!

Does anyone have an idea why this is? Why would the transmission or drive configuration impact the engine's fuel requirement, assuming it is the same engine?

10% savings is not a bad deal. considering E85 is better for the environment as well. I really wish merc brought blue-tec to the states. The rumor of 41mpg c-class in 3 years is really tempting. I read somewhere the E-class will be over 30mpg with next year's redesign and follow by the S-class.
