C300 Sport 4Matic
Smile Finally picked up my new C300 4Matic!!!!!

Obsidian Black with Black interior - P2 / MM / Panoramic Roof / Ipod Integration. I picked it up on Saturday!!

First - I will post pics once our weather clears up and it doesn't get dirty on the way from the car wash to home.

I have been lurking on this site for some time and have been reading many of the threads in hopes of finding the good and bad about this car. Here are some observations now that I am finally driving my black beauty:

1. Obsidian Black - Didn't see this color actually on a car (only the sample chip in the dealership) until I picked up my car. This color is amazing....the way it picks up the light.....wow. I was behind a "standard black" benz and mine had a much "richer" tone.....very classy. Of couse, not sure what I would say if I was the one owning the standard black....but I'm very happy with my choice. Also....it does not have a brown tint to it as I have read in a thread here.

2. The car turns heads - It actually does turn heads and bring attention. I was in line at the local car wash (hand wash only) and three separate guys who I would call "car guys" came up to me to check it out....ask "how much?" and take a look at the interior. Keep in mind that I have yet to see one on the road where I am, so it is very scarce around here (Cape Cod, MA). I kind of laughed to myself after lurking on this site and reading all of the posts about the car.

3. Quiet Ride - Wow....I can whisper to someone in the back seat and they can hear....no wind....just a very small amount of noise from the road.

4. Panoramic Roof - I love it.

5. Multi Media / Command - Great upgrade. The sound is amazing on the audio. Voice command is great as well....it recognizes quickly when you dial a phone number by phone...I was impressed.

6. Ipod - Indeed the volume is lower than other audio components....but you can adjust pretty easily. I see no need for an amplifier.

7. Overall impression - Love the car just the way it is. I am somewhat puzzled by all of the posts from people who modify their car and wonder why someone would spend $40k on a car only to make significant changes (at pretty significant cost in some cases). That being said, on some level I get that everyone wants their car to be different than everyone else's. I guess that means I'm not a "car guy" since I actually like the car the way MB designed and styled it. I would rather accept the car as is and spend the extra $$ on a nice vacation....but that is just me. Power to all of you who mod your car....some I like and some I don't particularly care for....but I guess that's the point now that I think of it.....you're not modifying your car so I like it!! (grin)

8. Finally - thanks to everyone who participates in this site....you helped pass the time and get me psyched as I waited for my car to arrive. Also...to those of you still waiting.....it is worth the wait.

I will try to post pics once the weather clears and I have both a clean car and camera in hand at the same time.

I went with Obsidian Black too and am so glad I did. No brown tint...the brown tint is on the Sienna Black..they use gold flakes in the paint making it darker, Obsidian Black uses silver flakes making it more lighter.
