MBUSA gift card
It contained the MBUSA $1500 gift card that MBUSA had told me I would not be receiving because my C300 was delivered in 2007. In fact, I called them twice about this and the people at 1-800-FORMERCEDES said I was out of luck. Needless to say, I have been fuming about this since then.
These gift cards are for any model (except AMG) delivered this year to a Mercedes Club member (one year minimum). Last year's program specifically excluded the new C and this year's seemed to say that only cars delivered after 1/2/08 would be eligible.
It is an American Express point card, can only be used at MB dealers, and in my case expires 2/09.
The question now is, how to use it. The BIG expenditure was the 18" AMGs I bought from MB Parts last October so that's out.
If my car was black inside, I would buy it the wood trimmed steering wheel but the only color available outside Germany is black so that's out.
Once again, to receive the card, you must have been a member of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America for one full year prior to delivery.
This is a deal worked out between MBUSA and MBCA called the Customer Loyalty Program.

...so if I sign up and become a member of the MBCA and 13 months after I sign up I buy or lease a new MB vehicle I can get a $1,500 gift card to use with MBUSA. Or is this a one time deal that expires at the end of the year?If anybody is looking to sell their $1,500 I would be interested...
(as long as it can be used by a different party and as long as you can use it on a vehicle purchase or lease and not just accessories or service)

(as long as it can be used by a different party and as long as you can use it on a vehicle purchase or lease and not just accessories or service)>>I'm going to assume you have already gone to mbca.com and read the terms and conditions of the card.
Whether you can join MBCA without owning an MB is unknown to me and you can research that on your own. Call them.
There was a 2007 program and now there is a 2008 program. Each expiration is 12/31 and there is no way of knowing whether there will be a 2009 program or not. As to what can be purchased at a dealer, the way I read it is anything, service, parts, crap from the boooteek, whatever.
So since service is no longer free, that's one item. Another one might be those new outside mirrors that there is so much talk about. That could be $500 right there.
The items for which a dealer would be willing to accept the card is probably going to be a bit flexible. Ask them.
Right now there is zero info so any speculation on this board is just that.
Not knowing about the '08 program until it was almost too late, I sent in my application fifty days after delivery, barely making it because you must apply within SIXTY days of delivery.
You really need to go to www.mbca.org to read the requirements.
You had better explain this one. I don't get it.
