This is an overlay kit that is precut and you pretty much clean the lens really well and apply the overlay. The install takes like 15 minutes. Very simple.

I like it! I've been planning to do this for quite some time but haven't found the right overlay yet.

looks nice and seems easy to do.

I may consider this option if I can't remove the tail lights easily. I plan on getting my tail lights professionally tinted by jonstintedtails.com as they have done an awesome job on my previous car.

i think i would rather subtly smoke the red part and leave the clear part as is, if anything.

does the overlay go around the little holes at the edge of the tail light or does it cover them up? I would also want to cover the red parts & not the white part.

WOW - so pre cut is 16.99 + 6.50 shipping, while you can get a 24 x 12 in sheet for like 29 bucks. Hmm!!

Still, good for people who are not comfortable with cutting I guess.

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
I like it. A little too dark though.

Other than smoking the entire thing like certain Audis and Volvos (which I really like), that's the part that should be smoked. Smoking the red and leaving the clear alone makes the clear stand out too much.

You can have a perfect fit and computer designed overlay for $15 on MBworld. You can also get 24 by 24 sheets from me for $25. There are options out there. Some people do not want to cut. You have to take into account that there is a reasonable amount of technology involved in pre-cuts as well as design time. The cutting plotter is $1600.00 plus the cost of software.
$6.50 shipping is what the post office charges for PRIORITY MAIL.

More options to come in the future. The hard part is placing an overlay of the red par tof the tail where is curves in and comes back out. This makes the install slightly more difficult.

I do have a lighter smoked material if you think this is too dark.

I think that not everybody notices everything we do to our cars. When I bought my car the first thing I did was change the door pins to chrome, clear out the side markers, and added the wooden glove compartment handle. When I showed my gf the next day she couldn't even see the difference!! Two days later my friend (who is into cars) was getting into the car and noticed the door pins and the glove box handle. I guess it comes down to how you feel about it that makes the difference. Don't get me wrong it's nice when somebody notices the work your putting in
