PIAA Spark 8000K Halogen Bulb the blue light source emits brilliant cool super white-blue beam.Spark 8000K technology with high efficiency halogen bulb. This is the only halogen bulb charged with Xenon gas on the market today. This PIAA SPARK8000 headlight bulbs has a color temperature at 8000K which send out a color very similar to the HID white color with a little bit of blue tinted color. (The higher color temperature shows that particular light bulb color is closer to the actual sunlight) It outputs an HID-like color tone & attracts a lot of attention at shows because of its 'mysterious deep ocean' feel. Never compares a cheap bulb which merely labels itself as 'blue' with PIAA color-certified 8000K bulbs. The precise calculation of xenon gaseous mixture to achieve an exact specific color rating in the actinic range is not easy and only PIAA has done it successfully.
Technology with high effiiciency
Emits a crisp clean white light at 8000 Kelvin
Super White Technology sets a new standard in design, application and appearance.
This is truly a high performance xenon charged halogen bulbs.
With a 55W energy output, it is able to produce the light as strong as a 110W regular halogen light bulb.
Headlight bulbs can surely save energy of your car and yet given you a better visibility.

I changed my high beams to the H7 Philips Extreme Power. It's the best in terms of visibility, not necessarily in terms of white/bluish look though. It's won the Autocar magazine best-buy award in Europe. Compared to all other bulbs on the market, the 'XP' emits 80% more light. The light colour is similar to stock. I have xenons on my low-beams, and the XP are definitely more yellowish in comparison. But then again, for halogens, visibility decreases in proportion to their white/bluish appearence. You take your pick of what you want - visibility or looks. I do a lot of driving on dark unilluminated roads - so for me I needed visibility on the high beams and on my fogs.

I had a set of PIAA 5000K's (I think back in '01-'02 they were called "plasma blue") on my BB6 Prelude. JDM foglights required H3C bulbs... IMPOSSIBLE to find. I was happy with the look but completely unimpressed with the bulb life. I'm borderline OCD so, no, it wasn't due to my installation (i.e., touching the bulb glass itself with your fingers, etc...) Apparently the oils from your skin and so forth will greatly affect the quality/life of the PIAA (other?) bulbs due to the way they are coated/manufactured.
For those that didn't know -
- just a helpful hint! Have a great day!**micropower99 -- let me know how your install turns out! I'll post pics when my set arrives (12-13 June)

Any QI bulb can burn out early due to skin oil contamination and this has been known since they hit the market in the early '60s.
Just wipe them with a cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol before installing.

I've always touched them with my bare fingers when installing. I guess I should be using a glove.

Hey, what about the cornering fogs though?
Guess I gotta buy 6k Bi-xenon bulbs to replace the factory headlights...... Here I go to search! anyone just wanna pipe in with recommendations for 6k bi-xenons to replace with just chime in....
*Sorry for the crappy pics, I don't know how to take decent night shots of headlights with my digital camera

Sorry dude I’m really trying to see the light in those pictures. Would you say there blueish like the xenons? Or do they have a hint of purple? I don’t want purple… I’m looking to match the fogs to the factory bi-xenons….
I have a HID H7 kit but am hesitant to install them because of the factory surround lighting (Which I like and use). I’m worried that using the HID’s without the car on would do something bad? If anyone knows otherwise or has no problems let me know.
