After clearing the "Service Overdue" message I was able to get this to work. Here the steps I took:

1.Turn your ignition in first position, doors and windows closed.
1a. Press OK button to clear Service Overdue message
2.Press and hold the accept call button for 5 seconds and while holding, press the ok button on the steering wheel.
3.If needed after releasing the two buttons press ok once more.

Let me confirm what the poster in reply #26 said - on my 2009 C300 - you must first clear the "Service Due in XXX Miles" message with the OK button when you first turn the key to position 1. If you do not, the procedure does not work, it drops you to the Trip Odometer reset as other have posted below.

Of course, once you clear this condition and Confirm, the "Service Due" message is gone, then on subsequent attempts you can enter the hidden menu directly since there is no initial warning message on the display. But under normal conditions, if you are changing the oil at/near the mileage point where the Service Due message is being displayed, follow post 26.

I just changed the oil at 12,600 miles and cleared the indicator. It took a few attempts but the sequence above worked for me too.

thanks for the info

BTY- I got 8 quarts out using the topside vacume method

Thanks everyone. It took me awhile, but I found a way to get around the odometer reset message problem for those who encounter it. (I kept getting it six times in a row)

Get in your car. Close door. Turn ignition. THEN PRESS RIGHT, THEN BACK TO THE LEFT. The subscreen appears at the bottom row. Now you hold the call-answer and OK keys. That'll stop the odometer-reset message from appearing and you'll enter the menu.

you guys are missing a step... after turning the key and clearing the service message you have to push the left arrow on the steering wheel until the word "TRIP" is highlighted.... I just did this 20 minutes ago by following the pdf i attached, worked like a charm the very first time. Good luck!

My car is 4,000 miles over on service B. I had the dealership change the oil for $100 but refuse to pay the additional $600 they are asking to change the airfilters, I can do this myself. Does anyone know if you reset the car and it exceeds the service date which mine does, will the car know when it is time to change the oil again or is it going off of when youreset it? Will the car tell you its time to servie it again based on when it is reset or when the car needs it?? Does this make sense?

TRIP is my default position, I assume alot of others do that also, so that was always the starting point when performing this procedure - so it worked as advertised.

"TRIP" will disappear after a few seconds and you have to push the arrow button to get it back up again. it's just one of those little things that is easy to overlook and will not let you into the menu on some w204s. although, I think this is version specific because in the video that was posted the guy didn't need to highlight "TRIP". So my advice would be, if you are having trouble getting into the engineering menu then make sure to include this step. Seems like only the early 2008 models need this, but I could be wrong.

You're welcome, I'm glad I could help! I get a lot of info out of this forum and it's nice to finally be able to give a little back.

Easy to follow instructions

Great video here on re-setting service reminder:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sf2w...eature=related

Easy to follow instructions.

After completing the steps noted above (close door, turn ignition to first position, press OK to clear service reminder message, press and hold call accept button on right side of steering wheel, immediately press and hold OK button on left of steering wheel)

That should get you to menu.

arrow down to ASSYST PLUS and press OK

arrow down to FULL SERVICE and press OK

arrow down to CONFIRM FULL SERVICE and press OK

arrow down to YES and press OK

You are now done. If you watch the above linked You Tube video, it is easy to follow.

The push start is just a red cover over the keyhole. If you read your manual, it should show how to remove the cover to insert the key. Then, follow the steps precisely with the doors closed.
Good luck.
