new chip!! 0-60 5.4 seconds!

I spoke to my contact at one of montreals best car tuning shops.

he told me that thers a new chip for the c350 coming in that will enhance the throttle response when you 'step on it'

he said instead of 0-60 in 6.0 , it will bring the c350 to 5.4 seconds and you can really feel the difference.

the chip is 440$ installed and does not void warranty or mess anything up.

I will get it on my car in about 2 weeks and let you guys know if i feel a difference.

I will put my car on the dyno before having it installed and then once more after the chip is installed!

anyway, just letting you guys know

Thats sweet, is there anything for the C300? I think that's the most common model everybody wants to do a performance mod on. Thanks!

A chip that DOESN'T void the warranty. Hmm...doesn't usually work like that.

gets me from point A-B
5.4 seconds is faster than a Bimmer 335i, but the IS 350 is still faster w/ time of 5.3 seconds 0-60

a chip and not an ECU flash? I dunno about that. I think my odds are better with that bass.

Tell us some details on the brand, etc. I need to get this C350 tuned up. I was hoping VRP would start a campaign for them.

A chip and an ECU flash are two different ways of accomplishing the same thing.

Not to rain on the parade, but any sort of "chip" or a flash very well could void the powertrain warranty. Do not be fooled, if some issue were to arise with the powertrain and the dealer found that there were any sort of modifications the dealer could change the vehicle status to "status 8" (no warranty repairs allowed without SPOM authorization). If you don't believe me call the dealer or mbusa and ask them, don't ask somebody who's trying to sell you a product.

And, while I'm playing captain negative, 0-60 from 6.0 to 5.4 with a $440 installed "chip", sounds too good to be true. Don't get me wrong though, I would love to see such a thing for all 350 owners. Good luck.

MY dealer told me only they will alow the amg to be chip but from an authorized place only of rentech but other dealers probably wouldnt let you. BUt as for any non amg model no way it will not warrent you on any repair if needed. So i have no clue now how people say a chip will not void your warrenty

first your c350 doesnt do 0-60 in 6.0. more like 6.3

Secondly to take your 0-60 times down almost 1 sec on a chip tune is HUGE lol.

Thats like saying you gained rougly 40-50hp with just a chip tune on a NA car for only $440 haha.

If you dont have any other MODS on your car i would say that a ECU Tune is not worth the money at all. All it will do is improve throttle response by alittle and remove the Speed limiter... your lucky if you get 2-3 rwhp out of it.

By law, a dealer must prove that your modification caused the damage/item in question to break in order to void warranty on that part. Not just a chip but anything after market on your car. If you put a after market suspension on your car and you're at the dealer for a broken radio, they can't void your warranty on the car just because you have after market suspension components. It doesn't make sense. But if you were going in and saying it's making a clunking noise over bumps, they they would have more of a argument and voiding your suspension components warranty.

Same for a ECU flash or chip. If you have that and you're in for repairing a window regulator, same rule applies. If they can prove that your ECU flash or chip damaged the window regulator, then they can deny warranty claim (highly doubt that). If you're in for a warranty repair and they can pinpoint the ECU flash or chip as the root cause, then they can void the warranty on that component and only that component.

I am installing the Remus exhaust and to check, I called my dealer's warranty administrator. She said there will be no issues with warranty unles it screws with emission control, which it will not.

I guess that's one safe mod.

There is HE TOLD ME, written too many times. This is what chip tuners allways say, dont believe them. In turbo cars these often work, but usually have little effect on N/A cars. I will belive it after the dyno....

Unless the manufacturer is retarded, they always work in turbo cars; without question.

C350 (non 4MATIC)
0-60 6.1 (USA)
0-60 6.4 (CA)

C350 4MATIC (CA)
0-60 6.3

Can someone point me to specs that show faster times then MB states? But hey what do I know? I don't drive a c-class
