bought a MB oil filter, now i have questions about diy oil change
1. There is a washer taped to the top of the box, is this washer for the drain plug?
2. Can I use an oil extractor like the topsider to extract the oil from the dipstick tube or do i have to drain the oil? (I used to extract the oil from my BMW, not sure if this is ok on the C350)
3. How many quarts of oil does the C350 require?
TIA!

How coincidental. Just yesterday I changed my C300's oil using my Topsider.
At 5000 miles, the oil was visually filthy. Took about 30 minutes. I used the last of my Mobil 1 0W40. I did not reset the service indicator.
The brass washer is for the drain plug which I didn't use, of course. The oil filter comes with more 0-rings than are needed. I used three. The oil capacity is 8.2 quarts and I put in 8 (see your manual). The oil level on the stick should be anywhere between add and full.

Yes, it is. The tools required are the same and the filter itself is visually the same. The filter installed on the cap assembly which is different but all will be obvious when you remove it. It is in the same general location as the V-8 but under the corner of the engine cover.
Really, you can't go wrong.
